The RA 3, Ch 3
Added 2023-04-26 20:51:08 +0000 UTCHey, guess what I have more of? After the gloomy opening to this third volume, I've had a huge surge of urgency to get to the part where things aren't so miserable. This chapter, Spencer deals with the fallout of his decision to quit, and has a nice long talk with a kind soul who helps him mellow out a bit.
Now I can finally stop obsessing over this for a day and do something else! But rest assured, more to come.

This was so sweet. Almost *Charlie* sweet, and about as juicy. It's nice to get a sense of the the scale for Book 3's dilemmas. We've spent a couple chapters watching the sky fall for Spencer, and now we've got a chapter that suggests is maybe just a rainstorm that'll pass, so maybe what Spencer really needs is an umbrella in the meantime. Bob's here to let us know that this is not a Quit type of narrative, and the Hottie Haven is here to stress that Tori's organizational prowess is possibly more to blame than several dozen horrified and vindictive women. Spencer just needs to get his bearings, and wait out the hardship. But that would be somewhat dull on its own, so this chapter thankfully supplies an incredibly romantic, hilariously stupid scene of mutual enjoyment set to the most energetically awful prose imaginable. Charlie's continuing side-hustle as Higgins 3's resident smut peddler continues to be a gold mine for both an insight into a great character, and a reminder that these girls' brains are basting in the Spencer Effect to a degree that should alarm the Hancock Institute and maybe the EMCSA. It's great, and I loved it almost as much as Spencer and Charlie. Outstanding chapter! I hope providing Spencer a little bit of hope provided you a little bit of calm.
