Student protests were from early 1980 until about the early-mid 1990s (some took place in 1995). The person that was freely elected in December 1987 was an ally of Chun Doowhan (military dictator and president until 1988), so there were still protests against policies and corruption, while demanding accountability for the violence against citizens and deaths caused by the previous government, mainly for the Gwangju Uprising (May 18, 1980).

Not many people realize that being flashed is sexual assault. But yeah Deok-sun handled it really well in the moment. But I feel like here in the west that kind of thing is super normalized in media (naked bodies and such) that we get desensitized by the fact that it actually isn't normally to be flashed. Especially someone who's freshly 18 being flashed by a grown man. She ain't even have a first kiss or a first boyfriend yet.

In Korea, a common folk remedy for indigestion is pricking the fingertip to let out a small amount of blood. It's somewhat similar to acupuncture, as it’s believed to help relieve internal pressure and restore balance in the body. IT WORKS!!!

Sunwoo doesnt like the idea of his mom working so she kept it a secret from him, she kept saying "oh i wont get caught bc he'll be in school" but now he found out and is upset. As much as she didnt like when he kept secrets from her (the shaving incident in the earlier episodes) he doesnt like it either and thinks of him as the one responsible for her and his sister.

Sascha

for Lee Doyeon I also recommend Hotel del Luna with IU

The "ee" sound is something that gets added to names that don't end in a vowel, when using the name in a phrase/sentence. So you can say "Taek-ie," or "Deoksun-ie," but "Sunwoo" or "Jinjoo" wouldn't have the "ee".

With names, "ah" or "ya" (depending on the vowel, i.e. Taek-ah or Sunwoo-yah") is added when calling out to them, sort of like saying, "Hey Taek."
