Taking Time to Recharge 🌿

Hi everyone! I have some news to share. From January 17-31, I’ll be attending a silent meditation retreat to recharge and reflect. During this time, I’ll be completely offline and unable to respond to chats or comments.

But don’t worry—I’ve got some exciting content scheduled for you while I’m away!

Here’s a sneak peek 👀 of what’s coming:

🤩 Pelvic Floor Anatomy & Muscle Mapping (Jan 20): A detailed session featuring a live model to help you better understand your body.
💦 Addressing Post-Pee Dribble (Jan 22): A practical video with tips and strategies to tackle this common issue men face.
🤲 Pelvic Floor Massage How-To (Jan 27): A step-by-step guide on techniques for pelvic floor massage, demonstrated on a live model.

I can’t wait to reconnect with you all when I return. If you have any questions, feel free to ask before the 17th! Thank you for being such an amazing community. ❤️

Hey, Doc! Yes, of course—you can copy what you'd like to help you with your script. Writing out what you want to say is a great idea! I encourage you to practice it out loud a few times. I shared the image in the Community Corner Chat.

susie@drsusieg.com

Oh yes Doc an image from you would be most helpful! And may I copy your last paragraph so I can remember how to talk to them. Maybe I should write down what I want to say. It just feels wrong to me that everything is about my genitals these past years. I have had 52 doctors exams, ultrasounds, MRI's, blood work, specialist and ER visits sense Nov. of 2023. all I do is drop my pants for everyone. Thank You that helps a lot, Rex

Hey Rex, I completely understand how nerve-wracking it can be to bring up sensitive topics with a healthcare provider, especially from a male perspective. This is actually a very common question I get, so please know you’re not alone, and I’m so glad you brought it up! I encourage you to lean into the vulnerability of this difficult conversation. Start by letting your provider know you’d like to discuss an ongoing pain concern. Be specific—explain that you’re experiencing sharp pains around your testicles and penis, which you believe are related to scar tissue from your hernia surgery. Describe your symptoms in as much detail as possible (as you did in your message above). If your provider has an anatomy model or image, you can use it to point out the areas that hurt, or you can bring in an image with the areas of concern highlighted. If it would help, I’d be happy to share an image for you to use. Also, be honest about how challenging it is for you to start this conversation—let them know you may have difficulty putting everything into words and that you’d really appreciate their patience and understanding as you explain. You’ve got this, Rex, and we're here to support you! 💛 Does anyone else have any advice or words of encouragement for our friend, Rex?

Dr. G, Good Morning again! I know your new content doesn't come out until Jan. 20th, 22nd & 27th but I keep coming back looking at the dates. I'm really looking forward to the post pee dribble content on Jan. 22nd. And I realized, I also have a doctors appointment with a new DO doctor for groin pain because of a hernia surgery that left me with a nerve entrapment of the left pubic tubercle. Five surgeries later eliminating the pain temporarily, 25 years ago leaving behind a lot of adhesion's. It shoots pain into my left testicle, the pain then goes deep into the base of my penis up the shaft and is sharpest in the glans. I understand you can't give medical advice on here, but I was too embarrassed to ask for an appointment for testicle & penile pain. Understanding that a DO doctor is a hands on physician who practices osteopathic medicine, a holistic approach to healthcare that emphasizes the body's natural ability to heal itself. How should I approach the conversation when I get to the office visit for groin pain that's really more about the pain in my testicles and penis that I've had for years. Sense grade school I had a hard time explaining myself and still get brain freeze when asked a question or asked to explain myself. Any suggestions on how to talk to the D.O. doctor?? Thanks, Embarrassed Rex

Good morning, Rex! We all deserve moments of rest, fun, and peace—whether it’s sipping a cup of coffee, listening to ocean waves, or feeling the wind through the trees. There’s something about nature that transcends the solidness of everyday life, and it sounds like you’ve found that same peace and beauty among the trees in Michigan. (Thanks for sharing this beautiful memory with us.) I'm truly humbled by your heartfelt message. 💛

susie@drsusieg.com

Dr. G, Good Morning! I'm glad to here about your retreat, you not only need this, you deserve it. I can't believe all the content provided and the work put in to it. You make talking below the belt an open, honest and relaxing conversation with top notch topics, plus you add some humor and a little spice. MMMMMMM! I used to go to a little cabin in Michigan with my step father and set in the middle of the pine trees on a stump every morning and recharge. Winter, spring, summer or fall when ever I was There, that was my charging station. You in the pine trees reminded me of that. It's been so many year sense then. So go recharge and keep bringing that GREAT content with your LOVE, COMPASSION, HUMOR AND SPICE that only you can bring to us males with a pelvic floor dysfunction. Thank YOU for all of that, Rex

Yes, it's been quite the experience to live through. I appreciate the warm and restful wishes. 💛

I think I am probably envious. Such activities can be a mental "cleansing." I truly hope it will be relaxing and recharging. With what your area has endured in recent months it is certainly deserved.

There is a sauna house in our area that has a cold plunge. I like to practice keeping calm and not reacting to the intense sensory feelings. Great mind and body training!

It's so freeing to be able to disconnect from distractions. Absolutely! This would be a great discussion for our live hangout sessions. ♥️

susie@drsusieg.com

When I go on a big trip abroad I usually turn my phone off the whole time. Unless it’s to study I suppose. My wife talks about doing one of those retreats. Ok can’t wait to hear all about it if you care to share.!!!

Robert C.

Enjoy the retreat. Be sure not to be overwhelmed on the return. Ease back into it! I do polar plunge in February at the Month long Carnival. I plane to join the club this year. Did the plunge last year. Getting off the beach and changing is the hardest part.

🤣
