Twist and Shout (Softly): A Juicy Stretch for Your Hips & Back ๐Ÿ‘

Loosen up those hips & back with this juicy figure-four twist! ๐ŸŒ€ Perfect for relaxation & nerve mobility. Ready to unwind?

Hey there, lovely members!

Today, Iโ€™ve got a yummy stretch for you that your lower back, hips, and pelvis will absolutely thank you for. Itโ€™s the supine figure-four lower trunk rotation stretchโ€”a gentle way to ease tension, mobilize nerves in your lower back and pelvis, and connect with your breath.

This is one of my favorite go-to moves when I want to feel relaxed, aligned, and oh-so-good in my body. Hereโ€™s how you can do it:

1๏ธโƒฃ Set up your starting position:

โ€ข Lie on your back with your knees bent and feet flat on the floor.
โ€ข Cross your right ankle over your left knee, forming a โ€œfigure fourโ€ shape with your legs.

2๏ธโƒฃ Begin rotation:

โ€ข Slowly let both legs rotate together toward the left side.
โ€ข Your right foot will gently lower toward the floor, but thereโ€™s no need to force it.
โ€ข Feel the stretch in your lower back, hips, and even along your side body.

3๏ธโƒฃ Breathe and hold:

โ€ข Take a deep breath in through your nose, then exhale slowly as you relax into the stretch.
โ€ข Stay here for a few deep breaths, letting your body soften with each exhale.

4๏ธโƒฃ Switch sides and repeat:

โ€ข Bring your legs back to center, uncross them, and cross your left ankle over your right knee.
โ€ข Let both legs rotate together toward the right side this time.|
โ€ข Hold for a few breaths, letting the stretch open up the opposite side of your body.

5๏ธโƒฃ Balance it out:
โ€ข For an extra juicy stretch, try rotating toward both sides no matter which leg is crossed over.

For example:

โ€ข Right ankle crossed over left knee โ†’ Rotate to the left and to the right.
โ€ข Left ankle crossed over right knee โ†’ Rotate to the right and to the left.

๐Ÿ’จ Go slow: Let your body guide you, and donโ€™t rush the movement. This stretch is about relaxing, not forcing!

๐ŸŒฌ๏ธ Use your breath: Inhale to expand and create space, and exhale to deepen into the stretch.

๐Ÿ•Š๏ธ Listen to your body: If you feel any pinching or pain, ease out of the position or adjust the rotation range.

Let me know in the comments how this felt for you!
