Wow, such a great video! I’m thinking about getting a Vacurect to replace my older pump. Thanks for sharing this!

Steve Jellerson

I hear you, Bill– I'm surprised how little education there is in the medical community around this.

susie@drsusieg.com

This would have been great information to have when I started pumping as part of my treatment for Peyronie's.

Let us know how it goes! I've also heard injections are not so bad—especially when partner helps.

susie@drsusieg.com

I have thought about trying a pump, I will ask my therapist about that when I finally get to my appointment. I have been using trimix injections to get an erection as that is what my urologist recommended. It is not as bad as you might think.

Hey Lamont! Great question! Generally, it's advise to allow tissues to heal for the first few weeks (approx. 4 wks) before using a penis pump. I have had men use it earlier but you need to consult with your surgeon and get clearance from them prior to using the pump.

Great video. I’m 56 and four weeks post prostate removal surgery. Had catheter removed 10 days ago. Is now a good time to start using penis pump for post surgery penis rehab? I’m still struggling with incontinence but working to strengthen my pelvic floor every day since catheter removal. Thank you

lamont jackson

Yes, that should be fine as long as there's a relatively full erection. Although there's no studied protocol, general guidance for post-prostatectomy penis rehabilitation is using the pump at least once a day.

Dr. Susie I am 66 years old. I do not get any spontaneous erections (no erections night time, morning or during the day time). The only erections I get are the ones I muster up myself with manual play, so I get about 2 erections per day. Is two daily erections enough to maintain penis health and avoid penile atrophy?

Thanks for sharing your experience with us, Eric. 🙂

You're very welcome, Joern!

I always used my pump in the shower using warm water. I never made it a real habit but maybe I give it a new try. Making the procedure enjoyable and sexy is a challenge itself. Thank you for this instructive video.

Right hot dog bunzz, I am saying out of fear the penis bursting or ruptured. I also already feel very freaky in ways I just picture one day if I had a pump who could find it. Not worried about my wife as that would be another thing. My wife would have jokes for days on that. I could here her now sound biting it or making memes and sanarios. Funny. It’s like having a duffel bag full of things and fear one day someone dumps it all out on your bed or table. Exhibit A your honor. That was maybe extreme or paranoia but I don’t was to hurt my Peasoon. Член

I bought a cheap penis pump a while back out of curiosity. It was curious about what it felt like. The pump I bought was a long clear tube with a rubber seal to push the penis into. The pump was a bulb similar to what you'll find on a blood pressure cuff. It also had a pressure release near the club to make releasing pressure much easier.

Even the very self centered Dr. John Mulhall finally began absorbing information from somewhere and one of his presentations on erectile rehab that I think talks about castrate sex is on Youtube. But again not getting down to the provider level. Dr. Mark Schulz is the only provider who I've seen talking about this in any way. It's on one of his Youtube videos for PCRI. Studies I've seen show a higher incidence of ED with men who've had radiation plus ADT (hormone therapy) vs men with radiation alone. I strongly suspect that failure to "exercise" is the reason.

You're welcome! xo

😅

susie@drsusieg.com

Absolutely, Ned! I agree—and yes, take it slow if you're new to pumping.

susie@drsusieg.com

💯

susie@drsusieg.com

Oh goodness, I wish I could have that much of an influence on people. The conversations are happening at sexual medicine conferences but most practitioners who attend already have a passion for sexual health. It needs to be embodied into the curriculum for providers to have the comfort and skills to address sexual health with their patients.

susie@drsusieg.com

Your spot on with your analogy, Robert. I think of it like a hot dog in a bun, haha. Yes, take your penis to the gym regularly. 😉

susie@drsusieg.com

Awesome to hear, Ron!

susie@drsusieg.com

I use the Vacurect daily as recommended by urologist and PFPT currenty doing the rehab protocol. It is very different from other pumps I have used. Very interesting and informative video.

Ron Gaskins

Can you fix this? Or maybe direct me to someone who might? I tried through our local urology group and had zero response.

Hey Guy, that's what pisses me off about health care providers, specialist most of all. How can you study and learn the human bodies function but leave one of the most important parts out of the learning. I understand life threatening health function is important, but damn poor sexual health threatens your livelihood and quality of life.

RJ S

Interesting video with a Lot of information. My thoughts: - I can’t help but think of a Sausage that splits from boiling it or Cooking on the grill to much. -The gear and set up. Maybe fun at first but I could get tired of all the set up, prep and disassembly. - I can see how this is beneficial for men and people with a penis. I think I Still get hard erections fairly easily. Actually is it ok I was getting engorged and hard while watching this video. I guess just imagining being the model on display for whom ever or just feeling the pump mentally. Greasy I mean great job to you and thanks for the model.-That was a typo but left it haha. - I will have plenty of information if I need to use a pump one day to get an erection. I will work my penis out the old fashion way :)

Robert C.

You're absolutely right, Guy! It's crucial to maintain penis mobility, blood flow, and function as much as possible to prevent penile atrophy. Discussing sexual health with their patients should be a priority with all medical providers but, unfortunately, this is not the case.

susie@drsusieg.com

A note somewhat on a tangent. It is important to produce erections during treatment with the castration (puberty blocker) meds commonly used in treating cancer. Lack of erections lead to penile atrophy. Unfortunately, all the attention seems to be on post surgery rehab. I suspect that medical providers are not aware that castrate men can be sexually active, but I cannot excuse them not putting even minimal focus on erectile exercise during treatment. 😡

Guy (works)

I would be curious to try the pump just to see whether I would be able to return to flaccid for short periods as in the demo. Doubt it. When I was castrate I did try penile rings to maintain an erection. With no libido the least distraction can cause loss of erection so I gave it a try. I found that I had concerns about not being able to remove the ring so did not continue. I did not like that the tissue behind the ring remained soft and acted like a hinge. My wife once found a pressure point to keep the erection when I was distracted while changing positions, but could not find it again for later sessions. I asked my urologist about the pressure point and she said information about use of the penis for sexual function was above her pay grade.

THANK YOU FOR ALL THE WONDERFUL INFO!!! ☺️

The device seems very intuitive! Can't wait for a larger size device hehe. My hubby is using a vx8 pistol pump with the big boi 9 inch tube nd little over 2 inch wide! Also the hydromax9 extreme that his pelvic floor physiotherapist recommend. We brought it to his session yesterday as I go with him sometimes to learn and help out his oain. i really like watching it grow hehe mesmerizing when he almost pokes the end of the tube 🫣🫨🙈

Jenniewaifu

Talk about laughter easing tension. Your expression, when you said, "Your ass!" just cracked me up.

Steve

it's too bad people frown on pumps. After an injury that effects erectile function, the pump is critical for keep a good amount of bloodflow in the in the erectile tissue. If you do need to use a pump please take your time.

Ned Daniels

Yaaaas!!!! Hehehe these are such lovely creations! I am still watching ❤️
