Mindful Masturbation 🙏

Mindful masturbation is all about slowing down, tuning into your body, and making it more than just release. Here’s how to turn it into a whole vibe. 💆‍♀️

1. Set the scene:

Dim lights, maybe candles, soft music, a cozy blanket — anything that makes your space feel like a self-care sanctuary. You’re not just getting off, you’re treating yourself.

2. Breathe with intention:

Start with deep, slow breaths. Pay attention to how your body feels before you even touch yourself. Let each inhale and exhale ground you in the moment.

3. Focus on sensation, not performance:

Instead of rushing to orgasm, explore. Touch different areas, switch up pressure or rhythm. Notice what feels warm, tingly, electric. Let your body lead.

4. Use your imagination or affirmations:

Think of a fantasy that feels empowering, playful, or soft. Or repeat something like “I deserve pleasure,” “This is my time,” or “My body is powerful.”

5. Eye-gazing (if using a mirror):

Try watching yourself with compassion. No judgment, just curiosity. It’s intimate and really healing for body confidence too.

6. Pause and play:

Edge a little — bring yourself close, then slow down. Ride the waves instead of chasing the end. It makes the climax deeper and builds self-awareness.

7. Post-orgasm reflection:

After you finish, don’t just bounce. Lie there for a sec, breathe, notice how you feel physically and emotionally. Maybe journal a few thoughts or just smile to yourself.

Hey Rex, Appreciate you being open about that. Yeah, those unexpected erections during PFPT can definitely feel awkward, but they’re normal reflexes. I get why slowing down wouldn’t be top of mind in that particular moment. Glad the breathing piece piqued your interest—easing into a rhythm can help your nervous system settle. Curious to hear how it goes if you decide to experiment with it.

You’re right. There’s definitely a natural mindfulness in self-pleasure, but like you said, it can vary depending on how tuned in we are. That shift from autopilot to presence can make a difference, not just emotionally but physically too. Love that you brought up “restless penis syndrome.” It’s real! And interesting about your testicular pain easing up with more frequent orgasms. Makes sense physiologically—release of analgesic neuro-chemicals and hormones and less congestion in the pelvic region can ease that pressure.

Isn’t all masterbation mindful? Just how much we tap into or how deep we go! Definitely the point to have more awareness on self pleasure and as I like to say state of meditation. It’s about being present with your self rather than the end goal or to just climax and be done. I do think there is still definitely cases where that applies. As Ive said before restless penis syndrome. My testicle pain is lower the more frequent I masterbate or have partnered sex. Which these days seems to be more masterbation.

Never have I thought of Mindful masturbation, with all the unwanted erections I've been getting sense starting PFPT happening at the most inopportune times can be embarrassing. So slowing down is not something I think about, but I'll have to try. The breathing sounds interesting, I just huff and puff like I will blow the house down. Just to finish and get on with other things. I've got time I guess I can change thins up. (Intrigued), I'll give it a try! Thanks Dr. Susie
