Just to clarify when Reiner was talking about his experience in paradise you can tell he was basically normalizing the so called “devils” by saying regular stuff to make them more human than they are portrayed. That’s why the family was looking confused because Reiner isn’t vilifying the eldians in paradise but instead telling them they are normal.

That's interesting, I had never thought of the dramatic retelling of the potato story that way. I just thought because they were all so brainwashed to hate their own kind that they were actually that shocked/disgusted to hear about an Eldian stealing a potato. It’s supposed to be confusing.. I was LOST, it all clicks tho haha. This isn’t a spoiler bc it’s been lowkey explained in the last 2 episodes. this is one thing idk if you are catching on too but Reiner, Zeke all the titans are Eldian as well. they are called warrior candidates. Since eldians are the only race that can turn titan Marley uses them as tools to win wars. Anyone w an yellow band around their arm is an eldian and a red band means that they are honorary marlians bc they inherited a Titan power. So those 4 kids including Falco and Gabi are training to hopefully be a successor to one of the titans. Hope this helps

Terrell remember Paradis and Eren and them are living in isolation from the rest of the world so they have little to no knowledge about the world because they’ve been stuck on the island and behind walls for all of their lives Their highest form of tech is ODM gear. Reiner and Marley been had technology. The flashbacks from Grisha shows Marley having ships since they’re in full contact with the rest of the world. Not a spoiler. Just connections I’m making from information already there.

if you remember Season 3 when they went into the basement and found the book with a photograph in it, they were unaware these technologies had already existed in grisha’s time. Along with the flashback in season 3 of grisha’s upbringing you can also see that blimps and other technologies had already existed so to your point that this may take place in the future, it’s more so about the fact that this takes place in marley.

EXPLANATIONS WITHOUT SPOILERS (everything was mentioned or implied in these 2 episodes): • this season takes place 4 years after the last season • the dark haired girl on crutches is the cart titan (the one on all 4s) • galliard is the jaw titan. He ate Ymir to get it. We just found out that the person Ymir ate to become a titan shifter was galliard’s brother • The story Reiner said about the potato wasn’t bad at all. The reason his family was terrified was because he humanized the island Eldians. If this worst thing he could say about them was a girl stealing a potato, that would mean they’re not really devils and are regular people, which goes against everything they have learned their entire lives • Zeke has 1 more year to live before he dies, every shifter dies after 13 years, so that means he got the power 12 years ago. Because of this, Titan shifters all age rapidly. That why Reiner looks way older despite it only being 4 years later • The conversation Zeke had with Colt after that meeting where Zeke said they should infiltrate Paradis again, exposed to the audience that nobody knows that Zeke has royal blood (from his mom, Dina, aka smiling Titan). That’s the reason why everybody says he’s the greatest beast Titan ever, since royal blood = unlocked full Titan potential.
