The difference in the homunculi is in how their bodies are made. Wrath and the current Greed were actually humans first that had Philosopher Stones basically injected into them and repeatedly destroying and reconstructing them. We don't really know exactly HOW the rest were made but it was obviously the Father that made them all as such, but logically we only know that Wrath and Greed are even capable of ageing.

2022-12-26 02:56:53 +0000 UTCMy headcannon about the homonculi is that Wrath is basically what Philosopher's Stone that's taken a human body, the show even deals a bit on the doubts about who he really is. While the others were never humans to begin with, they are basically immortal because what fuels them is the huge energy within their philosopher stones. The shadows are Prides true self, while Selim is just a container. Of course this is no very consistent since Greed/Ling should be like Wrath them, but he can regenerate and doesn't age as well; it's quite interesting to compare them, besides being created by similar manners they is a lot of ways their philosophy and personal struggles crashes. Maybe Father sacrificed some things when creating Wrath to make him so powerful, he would be way to OP otherwise, just picture him healing wounds and always staying at his physical prime. Truth is that FMA doesn't have a hard magic system so we ought to give leeway to minor inconsistencies.
