"Hello, sir. Are you here to take on a request?"
Two beautiful Guild receptionists approached with professional smiles on their faces.
Klaus turned around to look—and spotted one of them…
It was Eina Tulle!
She had those pointed ears and clear emerald eyes that practically sparkled.
Her medium-length brown hair shimmered with a healthy gloss, and her overall presence was—
Well, she wasn't quite as ethereal as full-blooded elves.
But she had a natural, balanced kind of beauty. Effortless, refined.
A half-elf with a sweet face and a slim figure, dressed neatly in a black suit and slacks. Glasses perched on her nose, her posture straight, voice calm, and demeanor kind.
Everything about her radiated a gentle, welcoming vibe.
First impression? Absolutely charming.
Next to her stood a pink-haired girl, about the same age.
Her name tag read: Misha Flott—a human, clearly a close friend of Eina's. Maybe even besties.
Both of them were graduates from the "School District."
In fact, even Lefiya from the Loki Familia—the "Thousand Elf"—came from there.
And speaking of the School District, the boat Hringhorni or also known as Maritime Academic Institutions Special District ...
There was one more notable figure: Leon Vadenberg, Dwarf, a Level 7 adventurer, holder of the title Knight of Knights, and the head teacher of the School District and the captain of the Baldr Class (Baldr Familia). It's said to be on par with Orario's top-tier familias.
…
After a moment of observing the two, Klaus shook his head and replied: "Nah."
"Just browsing."
"If you need anything, don't hesitate to ask us," Eina said, her smile warm and relaxed.
Klaus looked at her for a second, then said casually, "Well then… I'd like to register as an adventurer."
"You're a newbie?" Misha asked, a flicker of surprise in her eyes.
"Yeah," Klaus nodded. Then added: "Also, how much does it cost to hire an advisor?"
"Five percent of your earnings," Eina answered with a gentle chuckle, her hands folded neatly behind her back.
So... 5% of the valis earned from trading in magic stones or monster drops.
Klaus did the math in his head.
Five percent… wasn't bad. He could live with that.
After a brief pause, his gaze settled on Eina's name tag.
He offered a polite smile. "Then, Miss Eina…"
"Would you be my advisor?"
"…Me?" Eina blinked, clearly caught off guard, pointing at herself in disbelief.
Klaus nodded, grinning. "Yeah. You."
Standing off to the side, Misha looked a bit stunned.
Then, with a sigh and a light smile, she said, "Well, I'll leave you two to it. I've got work to do."
And with that, she headed back toward the office.
Privately, Misha felt a bit relieved not to be picked.
Something about Klaus just gave off the vibe that he'd end up in the dungeon and never make it back.
Rather than get all stressed out over a short-lived newbie, it was better to let Eina deal with the headache.
Misha's workload was already heavy enough—no need to add more drama on top.
She wasn't exactly betting on him becoming a top earner anyway.
…
Eina gave him a crescent-eyed smile, soft and reassuring. "Alright then. Let's get your paperwork started."
"Yep," Klaus nodded.
---
They moved to a smaller office inside the Guild HQ. With Eina guiding him patiently, Klaus filled out his registration form.
Turned out, the process was simpler than he'd expected.
Becoming an adventurer only required two things: A Familia, and the divine blessing from a god or goddess—Falna.
As Klaus's official advisor, Eina reviewed his application details carefully.
Name: Klaus.
Gender: Male.
Age: 17.
Race: Human.
Affiliation: Hestia Familia.
Wait, what?
Hestia?
So she finally started a Familia?
Eina's eyes widened in surprise.
She hadn't expected that—this boy was Hestia's very first Familia member.
How unexpected!
"How exciting," Eina said, gathering up his documents and sealing them into an envelope for confidentiality.
"Congratulations, Mr. Klaus. You're now officially an adventurer."
Klaus nodded. "You can just call me Klaus."
"Alright. Then feel free to call me Eina too," she said kindly.
Her gaze softened as she added:
"Klaus-kun… you're not planning to head into the dungeon right now, are you?"
"I am," he replied calmly.
"Oh, and Eina," he added. "When I get back, would it be okay if I used your place to shower?"
There was no way he was going days without bathing—that would drive him insane.
"Sure, no problem," Eina replied, immediately catching on to what he meant.
He probably just wanted to freshen up somewhere decent—she was well aware of how rough Hestia's living conditions were.
She'd never been there herself, but she could imagine it wasn't exactly luxurious.
"Don't worry," Klaus said with sudden confidence. "I'll earn some money right away."
"Though… I might be bothering you a lot over the next few days."
Translation: he planned to use the Guild's showers regularly.
"Mm, that's totally fine," Eina said with a reassuring smile. No hint of annoyance at all.
Once the bathing issue was settled, she finally voiced her concern: "Wait… You don't have any weapons or armor with you?"
"Uh…" Klaus scratched his head, thinking for a second. "I don't really need that stuff."
That answer stunned Eina.
Was he planning to get himself killed?
"Don't worry," Klaus said quickly. "I'm not walking into a death trap."
"I just seriously don't need them."
Eina had seen her fair share of reckless adventurers.
But this guy? He was on a whole different level.
He really was a madman.
Still, as his advisor, she couldn't just let him throw his life away.
"No way! Absolutely not!"
Eina squinted at him and scolded, clearly frustrated. "I'm not letting you go into the dungeon without any gear!"
She'd seen way too many adventurers—especially newbies—go in and never come back out.
And Klaus?
He was going solo!
Seeing her so worked up, Klaus blinked.
Did I say something wrong…?
Eina didn't waste any time—she yanked open a drawer and started pulling out stacks of information booklets and manuals.
If she was going to be his advisor, then she'd at least make sure he understood dungeon basics.
Otherwise, this guy was going to give her a heart attack.
Klaus watched her pile up book after book and—
"Shhhk!" He sucked in a sharp breath.
Dungeon knowledge? Dungeon safety?
It was already getting late.
If this kept dragging on, when the hell was he going to get into the dungeon?
If he didn't hurry up and start grinding monsters for money…
Then tonight— He and Hestia were going to be starving together.
And to think he had promised her a feast when he left this morning!
No way.
He wasn't going back without earning enough to pay for a good dinner!
He got isekai'd and didn't even get a chance to brag or show off a little? Hell no.
Right then and there, Klaus made up his mind.
He clutched his stomach dramatically and groaned.
"Ow… ugh…"
"Eina, um… where's the restroom?"
"My stomach's acting up…"
Eina immediately dropped what she was doing, rushing forward with concern.
"Are you okay?"
"Probably just something I ate," he winced.
"Public restroom's outside—right turn, then another right."
She looked genuinely worried.
"Got it!"
Klaus gave her a tiny, almost invisible smirk.
"I'll be right back!"
And with that, he slipped out the door.
Classic, not old.
---
Once he stepped outside the Guild—
Klaus stretched with a satisfied groan and took a deep breath of fresh air.
"Man… it feels good to be outside again!"
He looked ahead toward the massive entrance to Babel Tower, not far away.
A thrill bubbled up inside him as he grinned to himself.
"All right, Dungeon—here I come!!"
