One Piece Episode 6 Full Reaction

Full Watch-Along reaction to One Piece Live-Action Episode 6

Well said. You can just feel the care in this series. We didn't watch it until it was recommended from some One Piece fans in our community. We know not everyone loves it, but to us they knocked it out of the park. Hopefully this brought even more people into the One Piece community 😀

So there are a couple key things to me that have made this the only anime to live action that I've actually enjoyed and in fact love. One, Oda (the creator and writer of One Piece) did not just sell his IP off for a quick cash grab. He has many stipulations that give him control and aproval over what they do with the show. It is going to tell the story of One Piece as agreed on by the original creator. And two, The show runner they brought in who is kinda the mastermind behind this project, is a life long die hard fan of One Piece. And he purposefully filled the staff with others who feel the same way. For life long viewer and readers like myself, it is amazing how nearly every frame from the sets to the dialog just ooz apreaciation for the the source material. Go figure, you wanna win over a massive commited existing fan base. Just be respectful to the thing they are fans of.

Beth's face from about 36:30 onwards is a heck of a mood. I don't think I've ever seen someone do "shocked outrage" quite as well.

It’s up to them if they do ever watch it. I’d like if they watched the dub since I prefer it, but if they watch it sub I’ll still watch it, I love their reactions

True. Set design is becoming a lost art. Creating an actual ship is fantastic. They've done so many things right with this show 🤩

Bethany and Ken

Yeah the script and pacing is great so Matt Owens crushed it. Thanks for answering our questions on the directors as well 😄. And very cool the creator was heavily involved too

Zoro is still our favorite but we really love everything we've seen from Sanji's actor as well 🤩

"One Piece is a whole hell of a lot of heart, but also play." Bethany you said it right there, that's what One Piece is, and has been since the first episode. Even though I'm about 700+ eps in (out of 1100 so far!), i can for sure say that the show still faithfully runs on that aspect.

For the first time that I can remember, the way the actors conducted themselves has actually convinced me to watch this. They are humble and they are actually enthusiastic about creating something for the fans, being fan themselves. And everyone making the show being huge fans and respecting the source material is part of why this show was so good. The other was the fact they only used CGI for impossible effects like the rubber, Buggy, etc. They built almost all of the ships and sets in the show. And it just makes everything more believable. Seeing a real Going Merry just draws you into the world. Inaki (Luffy) thanking Oda personally, respecting the creator of the IP, this shows that the show has promise and a future. It's a damn shame that this is so rare now days.

As unlikely as it is, I second this

I think you guys should really consider moving on into the anime after the live action, going back and seeing the material that inspired the live action and to see your thoughts would be awesome to see. If you do end up doing that, I highly recommend doing the subtitled version with the original Japanese VAs, it is an incredible ensemble that really brings the characters to life and those voice actors are still playing the roles of those characters today since the anime is still ongoing!!!

The One Piece cast is very special, they are not only talented but they all have become fans of the original material, some were before they got the job on the show. Throughout the entire production team they are major fans as well, so even though this was a big budget Netflix project, there was a ton of passion that can be felt throughout the entire show. They also worked closely with Oda, the creator of One Piece. They even did reshoots of certain scenes because of Oda's input. To your question about the directors, the 8 episodes where broken down in two episode pairs. So 1&2 had the same director, 3&4 had the same director, 5&6 had the same director, and 7&8 had the same director. When you think about how the story is broken down in the 8 episodes it makes sense to break it down that way too, the director gets the chance to tell a full story arc over those episode pairs. I think having a dedicated fan and talented script writer and showrunner like Matt Owens also was a massive reason why this works.

Sanji's actor absolutely kills it. Honestly, I think he's the most credible actor in the show so far. Some of the other actors kind of act like they're in a cartoon, but he plays everything very straight and it works. That thing about fish skin is totally true by the way. It's an old timy medical treatment. The "So was I" line about Arlong being taller was a kind of in-joke. In the manga and anime, Arlong is about 12 feet tall.

Jennifer Sunderland

Yeah and the actor of Luffy met him in person and got emotional when he met him in person. He was honored to play as Luffy!

Oda (the mangaka of one piece, the guy who writes it) worked closely with the writing of the show i am pretty sure even tho he claims he didn't

owen weston

now onto nami story, you've been waiting this whole time for

owen weston

One Piece is emotional show, if the live action made you cry and anime will make cry like a baby. Some has a fucked up flashbacks story that make you feel empathy for ‘em.
