Kai's are born of divine tree's from special golden fruits that imbues them with their abilties, power & status. They're born from nature so they are innately not supposed to be evil. If i sort of try to explain any further it may be considered spoilers, so i'll stay away from explaining but just a fun Dragon Ball lore fact.
