So the exos have a pretty dark backstory behind their creation. Clovis Bray was the one who created them in the hopes of finding a form of immortality where someone could upload their consciousness into a mechanical body of sorts to keep living once their regular body was approaching the end of its days. He was obsessed with becoming the last universal common ancestor with all of the future generations of humanity. However, he was also doing it to save his granddaugher Elsie who had a genetic disease she got after he meddled with his descendents genetics so that they would have only his DNA. The disease would kill them by eventually causing them to fall into a sleep that they would never wake up from. However, his first generation of exo bodies were plagued with issues as the first ones would literally tear themselves apart to try and feel something as they were devoid of all the sensations that world gives us like taste, touch, feel, or when we feel the room temperature change and their minds would slowly deteriorate. Furthermore, he experimented on people with vex radiolaria who volunteered not knowing what he was going to do or what was going to happen. All of them died in pretty gruesome deaths and in one instance several human test subjects exploded in a gory mess in rapid succession. Clovis instead of being horrified turned to his assistant and told him that it was disgusting and to warn him about that next time so he wouldn't have to see something like that again. Eventually, he exposes Vex Radiolaria to darkness energy and creates a sort of solvent to have in the exo minds. This stops the minds from deteriorating and he eventually figures out how to make it so the exos can experience all of the stimuli and senses that people could before becoming exos. However, the fact remains that the exos have a gory history behind their creation. Clovis actually works with Maya at one point when they travel to a solar system that the Vex controlled, by going through a portal that they had received instructions from the Witness to build. However, at the time Clovis knew that she had some ulterior motives, but he didn't know what they were at the time. There are some disturbing similarities between Clovis and Maya as both were obsessed their goals to the point that both felt the ends justified the means no matter what. However, the two definitely have a history as at one point Elsie had to save Clovis from being tortured by a vex copy of Maya. Furthermore, we have seen a reference to MSund12 in the data logs before all the way back in the vanilla story of Destiny 2 when it was mentioned only once.

Do want to say this remember the 2 truths and 2 lies one of those was "The power to move worlds will soon be in your grasp." During the raid in that room (34:21) the floating orbs are actual planets the ones in the center are our missing planet/moons (IO, Titan, and Mercury) when we did that encounter we moved a planet from one plane to another. (Won't say which planet you'll figure that out soon) Also there is still a thing called Nezarac's curse. Won't clarify anymore. There was a slight spoiler in this video that I don't think you guys picked up on which is good. Veil containment when it was released came out weekly during season of defiance and into season of the deep. But at the time of the recording it was made in the season after season of the deep. Just so you guys are aware.

So the funny thing is we kinda have a breakup story. In a controversial lore book released back with ShadowKeep called “Unveiling”, something speaks to us through an artefact. At first people believed it may have been The Witness, however it spoke in a super causal way, and used Me/I to describe itself whereas the witness uses We/Us, so people questioned it. In this lore book the entity explains that before time, a garden existed (possibly the black garden), where two beings, The Gardener and The Winnower, played a flower game which always ended in the same pattern and victory for The Winnower. The Winnower believes in survival of the fittest, only the strongest survive (Sword Logic). The Gardener believes in complexity and flourishing life (Bomb Logic - multiple pieces coming together to contribute to the end product). The Gardener wanted to implement a new rule to the game, allowing for alternate outcomes, but The Winnower objected. Long story short in this conflict The Winnower created the first knife, fought The Gardener and in the struggle, the universe was created. The primary theory is that The Gardener is The Traveler and The Veil is The Winnower, thus them both coming from the same place/being one at sometime. People believe the narrator of this lore book is The Winnower, this however doesn’t mean The Witness is The Winnower, as both speak in different ways using different personal pronouns. So in conclusion, The Gardener wanted to open up the relationship, The Winnower didn’t want to change, they fought and had a bad breakup and now remain awkwardly connected to each other. This story has to be taken with a grain of salt though, as it is presented in a very one sided way supporting The Winnower, we don’t know how true it all is.

And so it begins, the build up to the final shape... Think of the ending of lightfall like the ending of Avengers Infinity War: the good guys lose. Now begins the destiny version of Endgame, where we pick up the pieces, and figure out a way to get to and defeat the Witness. All of the releases between now and the Final Shape build up the anticipation for the last major DLC of Destiny 2's light and darkness saga, as they call it. I'm excited to see how you guys react to whats coming!
