The Legend of Korra S1:E7 Full Reaction

I bet Ken wouldn't have thought you two would be saying that a few episodes ago lol πŸ˜† Asami is totally this show's Sokka in some ways. She's straightforward with her feelings, she's badass, she's a non-bender, and she starts off seeming one way but she grows on you and you see there is more to her. Sokka may have been more of a goof but he definitely has his refined moments. The core teams of both shows are absolutely top notch.πŸ‘Œ

We have to do this for copyright reasons as some Patreon channels that show full videos can get the companies to come after them and then Patreon has to shut down the channel until they are removed 😒

Bethany and Ken

Yeah, when she first showed up I got Azula vibes haha. Probably one of the reasons we didn't trust her πŸ€— Guess this is a What if type of thing. What if Azula wasn't so damaged 😒

Bethany and Ken

Happy to be aboard the Asami train πŸ₯³πŸ₯³

Yeah when y'all were skeptical of Asami at first I had my evil smirk on and was like "Just you wait and see" lol. That's what makes Legend of Korra such a good show, it keeps you on your feet and it's hard to figure out characters at first, and you could say that this is a slight step above the writing for ATLA in that aspect

oh sorry, I meant specifically outnumbered by benders that are willing to fight/do harm/ are hostile vs non benders who just want to live their lives.

its the full reaction you have to link up your own version to watch along or wait for the youtube edit that has highlights.

Why can't i watch the show in these videos?

00:41 - a Kiyoshi warrior? Look closer. Unlike the the first series' intro which had (I think) Azula, Pakku and two unknowns, you should be able to name all of four of the characters in Korra's opening sequence demonstrating their respective elements. They're each.. kind of a big deal.

Fun Fact: Asami is voiced by the same person that was the actress for Yue in the ATLA movie by M. Night shamalan.

I don't know if I'd say outnumbered. I believe there are more non-benders than benders.

10:15 Bethany crossing the arms like she's ready to interrogate Sato herself. One of the things I love about this episode, aside from the fun "who do we trust" aspect, is that this is arguably the first episode to demonstrate the more mature tone this show has compared to Avatar, really cementing itself as its own thing.

Fun fact: canonically, Asami is of Fire Nation descent, at least through her father, though might be her mother as well. That, in addition to being a beautiful, smart, capable and tough rich heiress, makes her a little like Azula) There is most likely no relation, of course, but fun to think that she was, in the beginning, kinda like a red herring villain - when Ken though she's just playing Mako and others, if she actually did, that would make her manipulative like Azula as well. I'm really glad, though, that she ultimately was one of the good guys, and an awesome one at that) Just fun to see some Azula parallels)

This is the episode I've been waiting for lol. Welcome to Team Asami! :)

Such a great episode for asami

Gotta disagree with Bethany about non-benders being outmatched by benders if they learned self-defense. We've seen time and again benders getting beaten and overpowered by non-benders throughout the series in Avatar and Korra, it's just that a majority of non-benders are civilians and lead normal lives and are outnumbered and generally outmatched, only a low percentage of trained non benders stood a chance.
