On my sixth watch through, it seems they actually used the 3 character in this episode. Basically, the three who fought the clowns spider was saved by sunraku from a vorpal bunny at firstia (he didn't explore firstia but at least it wasn't as bad as ignoring it entirely like the anime or manga) those three are also the ones who gave info about sunraku to rei/psyger-0.
