Can we just talk for a moment about how Mr Satan has tanked a direct blow from both Cell and Kid Buu without suffering any real injury? Which, by all rights, makes him millions of times more durable than Krillin, Yamcha, Tien or any other human?

2023-11-30 18:27:58 +0000 UTCPerhaps this was the moment Toriyama realized that with the parameters he set, the universe as a whole can be on the brink, but as long as the Dragon Balls still exist, anything and everything can be reversed. So he needed SOMEBODY to argue the point of how utterly ridiculous it is for reality's sake that entire planets and their populations can be brought back to life with pretty much no consequences, and who better than the senile old Kai.

2023-11-30 13:47:57 +0000 UTCSuper is going to be a fun time. Looking forward to that re-watch. Don't forget you've got several movies before super. I'd say they're all worth a watch, if for no other reason than having unique villians. But I really wouldn't start super without watching Battle of God's and Resurrection F

2023-11-29 16:14:48 +0000 UTCI won't cry either way, but for them that's 27 episodes worth of content lost. They could do both and then do a comparison. Up to them of course.

2023-11-29 16:07:53 +0000 UTCOne question I've always had about elder Kai's issue with the dragonballs disrupting natural order is if natural order brought about beings that created objects that could disturb it in the first place, wouldn't that itself be a function of natural order? Maybe it's natural order to disturb itself vicariously.

2023-11-29 05:34:55 +0000 UTCagree i hope they respond to this cause i can't stop thinking about it im gonna be so sad when they go to the anime route.

2023-11-29 04:53:49 +0000 UTCthe movies are better because A the storytelling was much better in the movies B the animation was 100x better than DBSuper's and C you can plow 27 episodes of the same story in a total of 3 hours after the movies go to episode 28 of super than you are all set.

2023-11-29 04:52:05 +0000 UTCI am incredibly stoked to hear you're gonna watch dragon ball super. Will you be doing the Movies + Super watch through? Or just straight into Super? Since many (myself included) believe that the 2 movies that build into Super did a better job than the anime.

2023-11-28 22:23:15 +0000 UTCEach dragon had advantages and disadvantages to take into account: Shenron, tied to Piccolo and Kami and now Dende, was limited in the sense he could only grant one wish and resurrect people once. If someone died a second time (Like Krillin did in namek), Shenron wouldn't be able to resurrect him. (Yes, in this saga Krillin died a third time and Yamcha a second time. They can't catch a break) In contrast, Porunga, tied back then to Super Kami Guru and now Moori, was stronger in the sense he could grant three wishes instead of one, and could resurrect someone indefinitely. That's why Porunga was able to resurrect Krillin, Chaozu, and Goku had he not survived. The drawback in Porunga's case is that he couldn't resurrect many people at once. So, inadvertedly, Porunga and Shenron complemented each other very well. If someone died multiple times, like Goku did against Cell, Porunga can resurrect them anyways. But if there are mass casualities, like the namekians themselves when Frieza nearly brought them to extinction, they can count on Shenron. The reason why Porunga can resurrect multiple people now is because when it passed from Super Kami Guru to Moori, Moori updated the dragon, allowing multi-resurrection. Same thing happened when Shenron passed from Piccolo/Kami to Dende, and was now able to grant three wishes. Shenron is still bound to some of the previous limits though, so Porunga is still necessary at this point.

2023-11-28 20:49:55 +0000 UTCThe biggest difference between Namekian and Earth dragon balls originally was that with namekians granted 3 wishes while earth only granted 1 wish. And the reason they went to Namek in the first place was because earth dragon balls couldnt bring back someone who had died once before and been brought back. When dende took over watching over the earth dragon balls however he upgraded them to be able to grant multiple wishes. I think its been mentioned before but there are a few movies that came out before Dragon Ball Super. I recommend watching those before Super as Resurrection is important to the last arc of Super

2023-11-28 20:47:54 +0000 UTCSo on the note of the wish granting abilities, Shenron used to be able to only grant one wish but with an unlimited number of people being able to be revived from that wish so long as they all had a shared cause (Bring back everyone killed by Frieza and his men). They also can't bring back someone who already died once hence why Goku couldn't come back at the end of the Cell saga. When Kami was assimilated and Dende took over as guardian, the number of wishes got upgraded to 2 (the explanation being kinda just glossed over in Abridged). Eventually by the time of the start of the Buu saga, Shenron has been upgraded to 3, however reviving more than one person uses up 2 wishes and the caveat of being unable to revive someone if they've already been wished back remains. As for Porunga, in the Namek arc, yes despite him giving 3 wishes already, he could only bring one person back per wish (hence why they could only bring Piccolo back to life and to Namek). Porunga, however could bring people back no matter the amount of times they died, hence why he could revive Krillin and Chiaotzu despite both of them having already died in OG Dragon Ball. That however, as of now has been upgraded and now Porunga is in fact, just a better version of Shenron. TL;DR Shenron: 3 wishes (formerly 1), multi-res costs 2 wishes, cannot revive people who've previously been wished back Porunga: 3 wishes, multi-res (formerly single-res), can revive people who've previously been wished back
