Totally agree about how Arcane has been so hard to predict plot-wise -- there were things I thought could happen, but often I was just really in the dark and had no clue how things would swing. This was one of those episodes for sure. Somehow I managed to miss all the spoilers for this show, even thought I didn't watch it until the second season dropped and I was a week late getting started. I was so glad to come into this not knowing the big plot turns, they just landed harder. Here, Isha's bravery and sacrifice just had me in tears the first time I watched and tonight watching this reaction. Like, that move was NOT what I had anticipated at all. But like her name means, she is "one who protects," and it was such an act of gratitude for everything Jinx had given her. Isha did not regret any of it... but that didn't make it any less hard to watch. So beautiful, so heartbreaking. And now we see what happens to Jinx. Like has been said, this series is just so well done. The Spiderverse films had really set a new bar on animation and freshness, and then Arcane just comes along and takes things up another notch. Agree with how cool it was to see multiple flashbacks this season and in different styles based on the character remembering. They never failed to find the creative way through. But even the regular art (like Viktor's commune or his astral/arcane reality) was pretty wild in itself. Caitlyn hasn't really taken a downturn, although it might have seemed that way. She's been furious about Jinx killing her mom and highly driven, but she rose to her position of general without knowing it would be given her (so she merely accepted it, while biding her time), and she's very close to the chest about her plans and feelings while telling Ambessa what she wants to hear. (You have to play things very straight, Ambessa is very perceptive.) Maybe she wasn't sure how she'd respond to Vi until they met again, but at least in that point we knew Cait hadn't turned on Vi lol. Vi's remarks to Ambessa = chef's kiss lol The whole Jayce thing, where he comes back like a madman -- you do have to wonder what he knows, what he's seen, that has led him to do such a thing to Viktor. Must have been pretty compelling... I like how they have played both of them as a mix of good and bad, and there's uncertainty about what is right and what is not.

2024-12-03 01:30:01 +0000 UTCThe League of Legends/Arcane community just isn't allowed to have nice things/be happy. This episode WRECKS me every time I see it. Vander fully became Warwick and it SUCKS. Caitlin isn't really a fugitive of the law, she pretty much IS the law in Piltover now, she's against Ambessa and her troops from Noxus. I think if Jayce had gone into the commune through the front then they would have spotted him, but he snuck in through the side via the cliffs which speaks more their poor security. If you go back and look at Salo's eyes when they show his dead body you can see that they turn purple, not red like blood. I will leave you with that because I don't know if saying more would be a spoiler. Ambessa's guy, Rictus, had the charms on his staff (can't think of their name right now) that you can actually find in League of Legends and it absorbs magic. Hextech counts since it is a form of magic. I can't wait to see you guys react to Arc 3! This roller coaster is about to hit some CRAZY loops lol.
