The party car was a kind of fan servicy thing. For as long as the game has been out, fans have been asking: "Where does the main character sleep?" She's the only character who doesn't have a room on the train. So the developers introduced a mini-game where she's got an entire car to herself, and you can decorate it and everything. And the in-lore explain is: "What? She's always had a room. We just...never mentioned it before. Doesn't it make sense that she'd have a room?" The last patch honestly felt the most like the bigger, grander plot is starting to move. The story up until this point has moved in largely self contained arcs, where events have unfolded that have local significance, but not so much for the universe at large. The Aeons (the Gods) have been bystanders, just moving around pawn pieces up until now. We've known for some time that one of the Aeons is going to be the final villain, but nobody has really moved against the Aeons yet. But some major players (most notably Herta), now seem to be moving to directly challenge the Aeons for the first time and setting events in motion that will expand the plot considerably. Herta's real body being revealed was a big crowd pleaser too. She's an extremely powerful character who up until now has only interacted with the player through a horde of remote control dolls that she operates through some unknown means. But the end of the last patch finally showed her real body, floating in space and facing down a God (you briefly see her silhouette in the trailer). So we're hoping she's going to appear in-person sooner rather than later. Because Herta is cool.

The girl with the sword whip. You are right about her presence, because she is someone important. And she does have A role in the story, but not enough screen time in my opinion. (Which to be fair, she is not meant to be the main focus of the patch’s story) The organization she’s a part of probably has the fans attentions more.

Interesting you also mention similarities in genshin characters, since hoyo games tends to have very similar characters across their works, and they leave many minor easter eggs in it. The lady you mentioned was jade, she was a little different compared to yae miko, much more ruthless and you can think of her like a devil, making deals that will ruin people’s life. Also, looking forward to see you catch up on genshin’s version trailers, you will see the resemblance you mentioned in this video.

I suggest waiting to react to the new characters. Because the next character Fugue will be released in a few weeks.
