If it helps to remember Tenzin and bumi's sister she was named Kya after Katara's mother

Logan Prime

Definitely understand what you had to go through, it’s hard to find that one cure after trying so many methods (was on antidepressants, multiple scans, therapy, etc.). I think I’ll give acupuncture a shot just to cross it off my list; I’m aiming for it to maybe help release stored trauma, because I believe that’s where my chronic pain comes from. Thanks for the insight and I’ll be more open-minded when searching for an affordable practitioner

It can depend on the practitioner. There was one person in my town that did it for SUPER cheap but their shop burnt down (that location was considered cursed because NO business survived long there) and they moved somewhere else to start over. The person I go to is able to give me 3 sessions at no cost under my insurance and I could continue to see her even after that but it is a bit out of my budget right now since I am also doing physical therapy that isn't covered under my insurance so I'm having to pick and choose. But I also go to an inexpensive massage place and utilize my college's meditation room so I don't just put all of my eggs in one basket with the acupuncture, yes it helped but it wasn't a cure for my particular chronic pain. I have tried LOTS of pain relief methods; lidocaine shots & trigger point injections, heat and ice packs, acupuncture, physical therapy, massages, medication, hydro therapy, exercise, etc. It's honestly about what will fit your body's needs the most but if you can afford it then I feel it is definitely worth trying at least once so that, if nothing else, you can at least check it off the list of things that could have possibly helped.

Sweet, can’t wait for it!

I’m looking into acupuncture as well, I’ve been looking into somatic experiencing lately. Was it expensive? I’m looking for something a bit budget-friendly, ofc I know it won’t be so cheap

J Sal

We are big fans of that as well!

A spin-off of Varrick trying to be a super hero is something we would definitely watch!

Bethany and Ken

You know we love Mortal Kombat so the short answer is yes. I'm not sure exactly when, but we will definitely react to that at some point while enjoying our MK margaritas :)

So right on the imperfection of the TLOK parents, it definitely humanizes them and brings that story more into reality than if the parents are entirely good or entirely flawed. And thank you for the insight on Ming-Hua, it's funny how she uses her water bending so well we didn't even pick up on the lack of physical arms at first. Also, thank you for sharing your experience with acupuncture! It's definitely something we are curious to try at some point so helpful to hear about the experience of other people.

I've tried acupuncture, it was definitely an experience. I cried during my first session just because there was such a relief of tension in various parts of my back where I had been under so much pain that I had eventually become numb to it until it started getting addressed. The feeling of the needles is a little weird at first and you can't really move once they are in otherwise you will risk jarring them but I do recommend it for people wanting to check it out. I feel like part of the reason Aang and Toph struggled as parents was because they didn't really have parents in their lives. Aang was raised by monks but he lost them when he was 12, Toph had parents that never listened to her and she became estranged from them. It sounds like Toph at some point reconnected with them since they were an option for Su to go live with, but who knows how long that took. Katara seems to be much closer with her kids, but she and Sokka had loving parents that were big parts of their lives. Even after their mom died, their dad stepped up as best he could while also fighting in the war. Their gran gran was also a prominent maternal figure so they had more role models around than Aang and Toph did. We haven't really heard anything about what kind of father Zuko is, we just know that his grandson respects him enough to follow in his footsteps by trusting the Avatar. For all we know he could have had his own struggles since his childhood was so messed up. I think the OG Team Avatar did the best they could with their families but I like how TLOK humanizes them by showing that they weren't perfect, it honestly makes me like them as characters even more because they are so much more relatable. I think that Ming-Hua (the waterbender) was born without arms??? I could be wrong but she strikes me as another character who used bending to overcome a disability like how Toph used earthbending to make up for being blind. I think if someone wanted to hurt physical punishment to take away her bending they would have just crushed her hands instead of lopping off her arms entirely since we saw Uncle Iroh almost get his hands crushed in ATLA, not that not having hands/arms seems to have slowed Ming-Hua down one bit. But I think she just never had arms and therefore learned to make her own.

You guys ARE right, this was a great advertisement for acupuncture, makes me want to book an appointment ASAP lol. This is off topic, but will you guys ever react to The Insane Lore of Mortal Kombat at some point? I saw the reaction for the Tekken one and I really enjoyed it

Kya should be easier to remember since it's Katara's mother's name. It's definitely easy for me to remember, since it's my second dog's name (my first dog's name is Korra; guess what show was airing at the time I got them). "I dunno, you can kind of take him out. I'm ok with that." Bethany said Eat the Rich. Double VA Fun Fact! Young Lin might be recognizable, as it's the ever wonderful Grey DeLisle, voice of Azula (and Ming-Hua this season). Young Suyin, though, is voiced by Michaela Jill Murphy (then still under the alias Jessie Flower), the voice of Toph! Bolin is such a lovable dork. That said, during that scene, back when it first aired, I made a prediction about Bolin and I am still so satisfied that I called it. I'll happily point out what the prediction was when it eventually comes up. Can we talk about how they animated these two? The animation clearly shows their age, that they're still elderly women, but they look badass as hell and, not gonna lie, kinda hot. I was waiting to see how long it would take to notice Ming-Hua's lack of arms. Wasn't sure if you hadn't noticed or did notice and just weren't addressing it. Yeah, I love that she uses waterbending to accommodate herself and being a badass villain. ...oh my god, Varrick is 100% Tony Stark. I want a spin-off now of him trying to become a superhero. In regards to the rarity of metalbenders (without spoiling anything major); I'm guessing y'all will eventually read the comics, but one of the post-series comics of the original series, I believe it's "The Search," shows that Toph started teaching metalbending, but hardly had any students because it was hard as hell to find any earthbenders with the potential to do so. "Lieutenant Ming-Hua, you ain't got any arms."

I find it hilarious you just noticed that Ming Hua doesn’t have arms. XD I love how Avatar isn’t afraid to have prominent characters with disabilities and have them work around them, while still showing those limitations. Toph’s blindness, Teo (the son of the Mechanist) with his lame legs, sparky sparky boom man’s various limbs, and now Ming Hua’s arms. Their disabilities are part of their character, but not the entirety of their character. They’ll fully rounded people, and that can be so rare to find in media.

Hell Yeah Gaming

Ever since Zaheer's introduction it's been shown he's very knowledgeable, scholarly and spiritually connected with air bending philosophies even before he got air bending. I also found it funny how you guys never noticed the missing arms XD.
