First Time Playing Destiny 2 - The Final Shape

If you want to go to the Final Shape skip the first hour of the video as it's us picking our Guardian and then playing through the first training missions.

Feel you guys should check out the other subclasses first to see what you prefer

Reggielacey22

Not just you. Patreon video playback seems iffy for longer videos.

Haha, for real! πŸ˜‚ Definitely have that feeling of being thrown into the deep end and hoping we can swim πŸŠβ€β™€οΈ

Bethany and Ken

Yep, the choppiness will hopefully be corrected going forward. Some glitch in our tech gear but we think we worked it out. Thanks for the helpful notes! πŸ™

Bethany and Ken

Well... this does make us feel a bit better about how much we struggled with the jump. πŸ˜‚

Bethany and Ken

All of this is super helpful, thank you very much!

Bethany and Ken

Thank you! πŸ™

Bethany and Ken

A little tip for the warlock jump, IMMEDIATELY press X again to get the maximum amount of height for the jump!

Rutabaga

Welcome to the final shape guardian, can’t wait to see this o7

Some Tips: - Other than the first mission tutorial, Bungie tends to not give instructions on what to do. But sometimes the mission objective will be pretty obvious. Use your radar to find your next mission objective. Your Light Power level is important so always equip the highest level gear. If you can equip gear that increases your resilience. - Warlock Jump, best in game, but with a high learning curve. Also, you can change to a different variation of the jump. - Know where you want to go, jump high and forward, then at the apex of the jump continually tap the jump button to slowly land to the point. - Generally, you use your primary weapon against enemies that have red or orange bars; you can use a special (green ammo) weapon if you want. For yellow bar mini bosses and bosses, use you heavy (purple ammo) weapon. - Since you have the Graviton Lance, keep using it. It's a very good primary weapon. It hits hard and can kill groups of enemies. - When your health is in the RED, look for a hiding spot to recharge your health and shields. - Learn when to take your time and observe the battlefield and when to run and shoot. Always take a glance at your radar (top left) and keep your head on a swivel. - Learn what each grenade, melee, and class ability do so that you can use them at the right moment. - In your subclass menu, large diamond/circle icon above your weapons, just equip what the game gives you. At least for this campaign.

Man you guys chose warlock to start, they have the HARDEST jump to get used to and master lol; one tip though is don't be afraid to use your Super Ability, its easy to forget about as a new player but it does tons of damage and can chunk bosses or clear a whole room etc. depending on the one. As a Hunter main (i tried warlock and gave up because i couldn't master the jump lol) i cannot give tips on the warlock itself except use your class ability (healing or empowering rift) more often and don't be afraid to use your Special (green ammo) or Heavy (purple ammo) more!

Hononotenshi

Yes definitely. I personally, at least noticed it during the final shape play through as well as through the cut scenes at times

Harry

I'm so glad you guys got to experience Destiny first-hand now, even if the footage was pretty choppy at times. One thing to note is the music in this game is very good, so don't miss out on it while you play the game. Glad to see you guys are making use of the graviton lance, the exotic pulse rifle, which, fun fact, fires mini black holes. One other note, you have a class ability called a healing rift, if you hold the circle button when it is full, it will set down a rift that will heal you and your health bar indicator is at the top of the screen. It is when your health goes red that you want to find cover. The taken knights also spew an area of effect solar attack on the ground that you want to avoid and the taken centurions who fire purple-homing spheres can be shot in the air so they don't reach you Regardless, I can't wait to see the rest of your journey through this story.

To clear the confusion yes that first mission is the same as the one in Destiny 1 They added it with the shadowkeep expansion that came out in 2019. That wasn’t always the intro in d2

Xircc

Yeah we may have to record it at a lower frame rate if my computer can't handle recording. Also might have been capture card needing firmware update. Question, it seemed smoother in the first part of the video which was recorded on a different day. Did you all notice it more on the Final Shape gameplay as well over the tutorial mission?

Bethany and Ken

I think it’s on PS5. The game looks like it’s running at 60 fps in the menu. So it’s either a recording issue or the game didn’t finish compiling shaders

D.O

Have fun! Especially with the worst jump in the game lol

Ali

Yeah theirs a lot of stutter in their gameplay I think they are playing on a ps4 so it’s choppy because of that if not it might be their capture card

NeonChaos

Day 1: Kill some hive shmucks with Shaw Han. Day 2: Go kill a god inside a god

ThePorkShire

Is it a bit laggy for anyone else? Or is it just me… lol

Harry

it'll definitely take you some time to get used to everything, especially going straight into the last dlc it will be a bit difficult. The video was also stuttering for me, not sure if that was on my end only. I can't wait to see the rest

Elvarias

Yeah, it's hard at the beginning. But you'll get use to the game. First it's about building your power, than learn to master a build and putting it into practice. Need any tips, do be afraid to reach out.

Nero

I love how funny the new player experience is for people that want to jump into the final shape. Welcome back to life. Here’s a gun. Now time to kill god.

D.O

The warlocks have the most difficult jump type in the game so trust me warlocks die regularly on platforms no matter how good they are the cost of being so powerful
