Western audience's naturally forgets that even tho Dragon Ball is for every race. Dragon Ball is primarily Japanese culture. In Japan most women especially in the older generation prefer shy men. I know sometimes it's so easy to forget Dragon Ball is not mostly based on western culture. Don't blame you at all. Just a friendly reminder. I'm 22 years old and i don't think i'll ever be out of my shy guy phase lol. I love strong shy men, which is why i crush so hard on Goku, Gohan & Trunks but i am also from Kyoto Japan lol. I've also made the same mistake watching western shows before i learned english. I was mostly confused by western sitcoms but had to remember what culture i was watching. I think we all do that at times.

I was wondering how long it would take for one of you to start singing along with the intro. "Toxic waste." I'm sorry! I should've emphasized it was a joke! And here we have one of my favorite Bulma styles. I'm sure you've noticed, but Bulma has more looks and wardrobe changes than any character in the franchise, and this one might be in my top 5. Ken mocking the accent made me think of a game, so I'll recommend it for a short video series, "Henry Stickmin Collection." It's a PC game, a collection 5 flash games remade into a collection, as well as a massive 6th game. It's a comedic and HEAVILY reference filled choose you own adventure game. Knowing how many references you guys make and get, I'm fairly certain y'all would enjoy it. A typical 100% playthrough takes about 4-5 hours, so I feel like y'all could get a few videos out of it without taking too long. "Yeah. Whack you again." Possibly my favorite Stephanie Nadolny delivery. I weirdly quote it often enough. "So that's how peeps get made." Huh, I wonder if Mochi has a similar taste, since I've never had it. "And why they're disgusting!" Woah! Ok, now I feel like you're trying to get me back for the Jurassic Park comment. That was just unnecessary. But yes, for a little explanation on the moon thing, in case you don't know; an old piece of Japanese folklore is that there are rabbits that make Mochi (a sort of rice cake) on the moon, hence the pattern on the moon looks like a rabbit. I will preemptively say to disregard that the power pole extended that far, as it was only for this one joke and should not be taken into account in the future. Also, at least those guys are still alive. Nice and safe on the moon, which is a completely safe location on this franchise. Yes, they do refer to Puar as female in the english dub. Not certain why they made that change. I don't recall much change coming from the gender swap, except for maybe how one might feel towards Master Roshi's "training" for the Tournament of Power in Super. With Bulma's sense of style, I agree, she was fully committed to the fit. Surprise Bucky right at the end! "Oh, we doing the outro?"

I just find it slightly distracting when dubs needlessly change things when there’s no need nor precedent for it, which is indeed a common occurrence for DBZ pre-Kai. I pointed out another example from DBZ as well because that I find is a very specific case of the dub trying to come across as “funny” when it is anything but. As for you noticing me only when I have something to complain about, idk what to tell you. There are plenty of instances of me praising Dragon Ball over the course of these reactions, dating as far back as the DBZ Kai reactions. Unlike what you may think, I do not hate the dub of Dragon Ball, especially not in recent years; if anything I prefer it and am glad it’s evolved to a more faithful route. I love Dragon Ball itself as well, it shaped my childhood, and I wouldn’t love it as much as I do if I can’t complain about some of the things I think it doesn’t do all that well. Just because you like something, doesn’t mean you can’t be critical of the things you don’t like so much about it. Thank you though for at least being courteous enough to vocalize your grievances.

It’s simply to add to the comedy and while it is certainly weird to call it tone deaf is just a pathetic complaint to make. And I stand by the fact that you complain about a lot. I can’t attest to having tried traditionally made mochi since it’s rather hard to find here in the U.S., but the ice cream mochi they sell in grocery stores here is incredible. Now I want some, damn it.

The one Dragon Ball references is that of the Japanese version, which more or less goes as such: There was once an old man who lived on the moon who had decided to visit Earth one day, and decided to disguise himself as a beggar. Not long after his arrival, the man encountered a group of animals consisting of a monkey, otter, jackal, and a rabbit. Seeing the man’s poor appearance, the animals decided to help him get food. Thus, the monkey gathered some fruit, the otter caught some fish, and the jackal caught a lizard (for he was too lazy to catch anything bigger than himself). The rabbit wasn’t any good at obtaining anything other than grass and felt saddened that he could not help the man. However, he suddenly remembered that humans like to eat meat. The rabbit then prepared a fire and jumped into it so the man could eat, but the fire did not burn the rabbit. Touched by the rabbit’s great display of selflessness, the man revealed himself to be Sakra, the ruler of the gods. He rewarded the rabbit by taking it to live on the moon with the gods, where it spends its days making mochi. It’s said that if you look closely at the dark spots of the full moon, you can see the outline of the rabbit pounding mochi to this day. You think the Rabbit Mob would be dead after Piccolo destroyed the moon to stop Great Ape Gohan, but that might not be the case. In one panel of the Moro arc in the DBS manga, it’s shown that Monster Carrot and his cronies are still alive up on the moon, continuing to serve their sentence of making mochi. I guess Goku just forgot to bring them back down lol.

He’s not much w/o said magic touch, but what would happen if he managed to use it on someone like Beerus or Jiren? Would they be able to stay conscious like Vegito when Buu turned him into candy? Is Monster Carrot’s magic so powerful that not even they could withstand it? Does a person “die” when they turn into a carrot? If not, could Monster Carrot have been the MVP of the Tournament of Power? Who can say?
