But the magic catastrophically misfired. Instead of raising troops, Atou herself was twisted into a clumsy, dim witted gnoll: coarse fur replaced her silver hair, her graceful elf-like ears shrank into rounded gnollish ones, and her once sharp red eyes faded into empty, vacant stares. Her intelligence evaporated, replaced totally by primitive instincts
