I'd definitely prefer you to be honest over nice. It's more fun to hear your thoughts including when you're frustrated or annoyed. That's part of the review experience. Besides I think it balances things out better. If a work has elements you like and dislike it can lead to more interesting points and discussion and the analysis benefits. Obviously a big difference between being rude and being honest and I have never found you to be unnecessarily mean so please be honest.
