Rough is a side story primarily focused on Arthur (guy from Sanya and Yura's friend group and the drummer for Anger Management).
Similarly to Execution, it's an adaptation of a short story I've had written a while ago. Not nearly as plot-relevant as the previous comic, though, lol.

2024-08-17 23:24:15 +0000 UTCferry i spent multiple hours yesterday thinking about how in these comics (and pafl in general but especially the comics) you master one of my favorite tropes which is “characters think weird shit is normal”. like in execution yura’s going around like “a major anomaly past the age of 12 is rare” like that’s just something everyone knows and learned in school. imagine if a nonlocal had found that vortex thing they’d be so freaked out but because it was found by two shitass teens they just poke it with a stick. this city is probably one of the most scientifically fascinating places in the world but they grew up here so to them it’s just the shithole town they hate. and i think i like it so much because its just like me frfr. i grew up in a company town but the company was a national laboratory with a lot of classified shit going on and it wasn’t until my late teens i realized just how weird some things were that i thought were normal. like there was this one time in the fifth grade where there was a big explosion sound in the distance during recess and my friend who lived out of town was like “we’re gonna get nuked” (lab did nuclear stuff) and i was like “nah that’s lab doing lab things” like it did not occur to me at all that Big Explosion Bad
