Don't think doppelman as Moriahs shadow, think more of it as his clone, like he said. And yeah, most inconsistencies are because of filler

Damn they really messed up the pacing with all those filler scenes. You will notice it's way quicker and less cringy in the Manga when you get to that point. Thriller Bark Arc in general suffered in the anime adaption.

I'm actually glad you're not enjoying these episodes a whole lot. This arc is just way too silly in some parts. I know people excuse it because it's funny but for real every arc in One Piece is funny without being this silly. This arc picks up soon. You gotta tough it out lol! Just to clarify, the zombies in the mansion thought that the fish would have been enough to purify Oars, but people who are more acquainted with Moria's powers, like the bat, know that the salt intake depends on the size of the body.

Howdy friend! <3 I agree, these episodes aren't the most interesting (in part due to how much they've been stretched out), and the Sanji gags are kinda.... repulsive here. I get how it's so ridiculous that it's funny, but I'm not big on laughing at like sexual harassment. My takes I had on some of the inconsistencies you pointed out (NO SPOILERS), in case you wanted to discuss: - I assume the salted fish wouldn't have actually killed Oars, the smaller zombies were just judging the situation from their own perspectives. Moria didn't seem super concerned. - As for Doppelman/Brick Bat, we've seen from Moria's ability to peel Luffy's shadow off the ground and cut it with scissors that his power entails not only command of shadows, but the ability to turn them into some tangible, amorphous substance and manipulate it. Thus, he could attack Luffy with shadows. - I forgot to mention this when you were speculating about Blackbeard's powers! Dark matter -- as far as astronomers currently understand -- doesn't resemble physical darkness; it's completely invisible, neither absorbing nor reflecting (nor refracting) light. Whatever that "gaseous" darkness Blackbeard secretes is, it absorbs and swallows light, so its properties don't align with dark matter. If anything, I'd say Absalom's powers behave more like dark matter. I hope you find these judgments helpful/interesting!

I love Sanji, but I agree these scenes weren't his highest moments. In general, I don't particularly enjoy when they play his pervert personality to the extreme, although I greatly enjoy some of his silly "mellorine" antics. At the same time, I think that without scenes like these and his clear flaws I wouldn't love his best moments as much, he's kind of a "higher highs, lower lows" character for me, but those highs really make me love the character more than most of the others. I have to say, I agree these episodes were kind of lame, and I have always defended this arc. Again like with Enies Lobby, moments like Oars trying to swim just fly by when you binge watch, but in a "2-episodes every three days" pace, they really slow the story down.

Clearly i'm different from most people but I never had any issue with the pacing of this arc. I love every part of it !

Sanji is my favourite strawhat but yeah... i wouldn't say this is his best moment, i dont find his gag particularly funny but still find myself really liking his character despite it. it's just a shame all the good parts of his character tend to get overlooked by some parts of the community because of this.

Even though some people have a problem with Sanji over his take on not hitting women, but for me that just makes him a flawed character and that’s why I like him. I also love his over the top nature around girls

Usopp and kuma zombie have stolen the show in the second episode. I wasn't a big fan of sanji/abslomo fight tho.

I really dont like when they take Sanji to these extreme points. While he is very weak when it comes to the ladies, he is also portrayed as a gentleman type of guy, and a gentleman wouldnt even think of peeking. So either you´re a pervert or you´re a gentleman

Sometimes we don't like these episodes at the first time, but later on when you finished all episodes and back to these you may find they are not boring or "bad" at all!

I really like your reactions in general but could you tone down the amount of talking bad about Sanji? Him being a pervert or zoro being bad with taking routes is just a joke that adds a little bit of silly personality. Even if he is wrong hes just an anime character. That episode was released 12 years ago. Back then it wasnt really outrageous to have that type of character in your show. The Animescene is getting so sensitive and whiny about characters that most shounen animes have. Dont get this as hate but this whole arc you were so negative about Sanji and still adored Perona who is just toxic to bearys. Definitely not "mean". I didnt hear you talking bad about her tho.

To be fair I think this two episodes could easily be just one, can´t wait to see you reach this part in the manga, the pacing is incredibly different

I wouldn't be surprised, since it just felt like they were trying to make the episode longer. But for future reference, please don't tell me about anime VS manga differences. I will be reading the manga so I'd like to find out differences by myself :3 it's part of what I think makes the manga read alongs more fun - seeing if I remember/notice differences etc.

Since they don't think Sanji has a bounty(because of his hilarious bounty picture) that's why he was probably placed in a weaker zombie compared to Zoro who has a bounty which is known so they put him in a General Zombie.

The salt thing imo is just the lower level Zombies wanting to keep him away from salt completely because it would be enough to kill them but the higher level Zombie’s are more aware of Oars and what he can take

Actually I'm also not a big fan of this whole part of the arc. I think it's normal to have those "bad" episodes in a show that has almost 1000 episodes. But this is also part of the journey, you know? This is those times where we must be strong and keep watching because we know that one piece has the potential to give us great moments.
