[TSUKIMICHI] E9 - 12 Reaction & Thoughts

You are obviously here to watch my reaction/listen to my review and have already seen the original episodes on legal streaming sites like Crunchyroll.

Make sure to support these legal streaming sites and buy the manga! (◕)*:・゚✧

Episode 9+10: Google Drive or Dailymotion

Episode 11+12: Google Drive or Dailymotion

Side note: just to let you know, I am not sure if I'm going to continue Tsukimichi S2 before I go to Japan, or only after I get back xx

I talked a lot about starting Fate as well, since Star Rail and Fate are doing a collab at some point in the future... but, I think that will have to be on the next poll! It has been requested a lot, after all. I'll finish Tsukimichi first though! or if possible, I will find a separate time slot on the schedule for Fate :)

[TSUKIMICHI] E9 - 12 Reaction & Thoughts

Comments

I know its been mentioned previously, but in a lot of ways its hard not compare it to Slime. Like in Slime Shuna purified another skeleton Lich guy. But I think for the most part its because it has similar themes because they both use the same fantasy games as reference. Also both had an attack on their village that resulted in a sort of turning point. In Rimiru's case Shion died causing him to kill a bunch of people and become a demon lord. Its just unrelated parallels though, I don't think either works were copying each other, but it can be interesting to compare them. Both series they are OP main characters who I never really feel afraid for, like nothing really threatens them. I do think Tsukimichi's pacing is maybe too fast to develop strong connections to characters though, I haven't read the novels but I wonder how much was left out.

I do have a soft spot for the Studio Deen version, but I understand why its maybe not the most ideal place to start when there are alternatives. Especially if you don't have a lot of time to watch all the shows.

In the Iliad, Helen of Troy story, Eris wasn't invited to a god party, so caused chaos and discord by throwing a golden apple into the party with the note to give it to the most beautiful one. Paris of Troy was appointed by Zeus to pick someone, and Aphrodite bribed him to have Helen fall in love with him, which ended up starting the Trojan War. Genshin side note, Klee's mom Alice in Japanese/Chinese is spelled with the same characters as Eris. Aris Alis. And Alice has the Golden Apple Archipelago, so this could be a small reference to the Golden Apple from the Story of Troy but also Alice from Wonderland reference.

Lol I've made the joke before about Eris (Konosuba) being the goddess of the Discord app. Initially I thought Aqua and Eris were references to Konosuba, but its likely the other way around. Or from what the MC mentioned, apparently there is a water bottle brand named Aquarius which sounds like Aqua Eris I guess.

I can give some context on which to start with the Fate series without giving spoilers just so you have some more info but of course do your own research too. You would either start with Fate/Zero or Fate Stay Night:Unlimited Blade Works. It's just about which to begin with between these two. No one will argue for any other to start with first. So Fate/ Stay Night was the original Visual Novel. Fate/Zero came after and was a light novel. Studio Deen did a very lacklustre adaptation of the first route of Fate/Stay Night that bungled a few things. This anime was called.....Fate/Stay Night. Later, Ufotable did an adaptation of Fate/Zero and then they later adapted the second route of Fate/Stay Night called "Fate/Stay Night : Unlimited Blade Works". The problem here is that the first route that was adapted in a lackluster manner by Studio Deen is what was meant to set the foundation for the world that helps you better understand "Unlimited Blade Works" but because ufotable didn't adapt the first route they used Fate/Zero to set the foundation for the world instead. There's an argument about which to start with first between each other too because both these anime adaptations spoil each other to some degree. ---- There's technically no wrong answer but most streamers do Fate/Zero to Fate/Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works. I'd personally pick Fate/Zero to Fate/Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works too because the story is easier to follow that way and I felt that it added more weight that way but lots of people could give really good and valid arguments fighting for "Unlimited Blade Works" first. (I do recommend eventually watching Studio Deen's version of Fate/Stay Night but I would not recommend starting with it first but to end with it just because Studio Deen put things into that adaptation that comes from other routes because they didn't think they were going to adapt anything else Fate-related)
