Have you ever read the comic strip "Overboard?" I could imagine the guy on the left as a Green Ship guy, like Guy with Clover in Hat, who always seems inexplicably nice to the captain's dog Louie. Perhaps that led to a relationship with Charlie, who also loves pets, thus making this a forbidden love affair...and a 'ship.
