It's been 7 months since Chad and Brainna seen Ava. Chad has made peace with being a divorced single father and tries to forget about the bad memories from his relationship with Ava. He focusses all his energy on being a great father to his daughter. But Bruce continues to ring Chads phone reminding Chad of the betrayal.

While Chad and Brianna are enjoying their camping trip Bruce calls again. Brianna doesn't know why her father is choosing to ignore Bruces phone calls, but she convinces her father to be a better friend and answer the call. Chad's reluctance to answer is because he believes there's no excuses for what Bruce did.

Brianna insists and Chad becomes curious of what excuse Bruce could possibly give for the betrayal he committed. He meets with Bruce the next morning at a coffee shop to properly discuss the past events. Chad is yet again in for a rude awakening as he eventually runs into an unexpected guest.
