More rework, more bugfixing

Man.. This week!
I can't remember when I was last this tense. After the release last friday and the days that came after that I was a bit frustrated. I didn't expect this many problems would pop up and it was difficult for me to think about anything else.
At this point I want to thank everyone who took the time to test this last version!
I wouldn't have been able to clean up all the mess without your help!
I've contacted some of the plugin authors to help me with the bugs that I couldn't fix on my own. Thanks to that, the problem with the audio plugin is now fixed and it works fine for next weeks release.
I had to revert my changes made to the savefile location because the plugin doesn't memorize option settings at the moment.  I've informed the author about this problem and when he fixes it I will implement it again (This won't break saves then)

About breaking saves: Some might have missed it in my previous posts so I'm going to explain again why it was necessary.
First off: This happened now in 0.3.9.5 but it won't happen again in the near future if ever.
The last time I had to do that was with 0.2.0 when I implemented the talent system, which at the time was also a big change.
This time the change was of similar size even though it doesn't feel like this from the player perspective. I've replaced the soundplugin (it caused random crashes) and the old hunger/rest system (to fix combat damage calculation).
Replacing the sound plugin was the cracking point, some data regarding the plugins is created at the start of a new game. This information is missing if you load an old save which then causes unending error spams.
So long story short: I hated doing this, but it was necessary to not have these problems forever. It won't happen again unless there is something critically broken.

Back to the rework: I've continued to work on Tia's images when ever there was a break from bugfixing. The image you can see in the title reminded me of the post I did in 2019. Funny enough, almost exactly two years ago ;)
For the release next week I have some more things planned. Aside from reworked animations for Tia I want to add a new character to Rumah, the chieftains wife.
If you now already played through Tia's story around Rumah this might look a bit strange since she would then just pop up and maybe be upset if you murdered her son (Dasan). So I advise to wait with playing through that story until the 0.4.0.0 release if you don't want to miss the dialogue.

Ok one more week to go, I will make good use of it and hopefully there aren't that many bugs left for me to fix now.

A good point. Well maybe I'll be able to write something fitting for the upcoming Arianna & Kate scene when Rick gets drunk.

I know this is a porn game ultimately but the story and the world have a comfortable feeling so you did a great job in that honestly. However, because of that it feels a little too serious overall. This is just a suggestion for the future but maybe you can add a bit comedy into it. Maybe something like gollum from LotR who appears here and there and makes funny comments.

Don't worry about it, I just wanted to point it out for some future fix, could be 1 year from now, haha. I think we all prefer content above anything else. :)

I see what you mean. This is definitly something I should take a look at. But it will probably have to wait until after the 0.4.0.0 update. I've spent a lot of time fixing bugs already and my priority for this week is to get some new content in.

I put 3 pictures online via imgur to showcase one of the weird things, this being that I played Grant and won enough to take all his gold, that should by default mean +3 gold in total, but as you can see, it was only +1 gold at the end of it. So something is happening when you split, double down, etc. that is causing weird things. https://imgur.com/a/yi6L6qE

Can't speak for sure as this may be a legitimate bug so you may want to post it in the discord of you haven't already. But are you sure you aren't confusing the money that's already on the table? When you put in money on a round tour both lose the amount put forward for that round and the winner takes the whole bet. So you could have 1 and grant 3 and the money on the table means that you go down to 0 and grant 2 until 1 of you wins and grains 2 gold. Obviously though I agree this wouldn't account for larger amounts just disappearing over the length of a game. If you can maybe take a screenshot at the start of a game and play a few rounds then use that one to compare.

Probably unrelated to any of the things you're doing currently but the blackjack game seems somewhat broken. What I mean by that is, even if you draw sometimes (might need specific setups, like going double down and what-not) you end up losing money on a draw. I mostly noticed in a long and extended match of losing and winning back and forth and Grant ended up with 2 gold (so he must have lost 1, since he starts with 3) and I was at 0 gold. That's not really a possibility since that means the gold is just dissapearing somewhere. I'm aware this isn't a big thing, but if you play the game without cheat codes and with the new resting system it is actually a bit tougher on the management of your resources so the early money you can pick up from Grant is very welcome. Also the fix with the shops means you can't just craft endless amounts of armor to resell. These are all good fixes, but yeah, the blackjack thing seems broken a bit.
