The reason tanjiro stopped fighting was because he wasn’t breathing at all while fighting and that’s all I’ll say because it’ll explain it in detail in the show eventually

Plus, my guess with Daki not regenerating while fighting Tanjiro is prob because he uses "Sun breathing" and demons are weak against sunlight, so therefore is y Muzan wants to destroy the sun breathing lineage aka kill Tanjiro and Nezuko being apart of that lineage.
