No I don’t think that’s the case, the lifespan of a person isn’t really an “expectancy” persay and it can’t be changed, the death note only kills them on the spot and doesn’t reduce the time (that’s why shinigami get the remaining lifespan added to theirs) I think ryuk was laughing because of how smart light is and was able to trick her into giving him her name

2020-06-23 21:25:27 +0000 UTCLight being so desperate to stop her is definitely fishy. But remember that she is just as desperate to investigate Kira and meet L. Afterall, her husband was murdered by Kira and she said it herself that she was starting to lose it. And yeah the ending was just symbolism that she is going to die.
