In this episode, Willie lies and betrays Simon and only after that then decides to declare he loves him even though he's not willing to be with him?? And to be honest, at this point in the show I didn't feel like it had gotten to the point of love between the two. They liked and crushed on each other but it felt like they were still only just learning about one another. It left me very pissed off with Wilhelm. (He does redeem himself in S2 and when Simon tells him he loves him back at the end of S2, that felt very real. I could feel the love between the two at that point.)

2023-10-06 12:01:35 +0000 UTCI understand, that Simon didn't want to be anyones secret, and was frustrated, and I get that Wilhelm had to think of the impact of it all, with his status, family etc and among other things wasn't prepared for even more responsebility now, and it would affect Simon as well either way, with Wilhelm being a prince and the leaked video etc, so they were in a situation that in many ways suck. At first watch I was somehow angry at the queen for how she handled things(I get she tried to protect Wilhelm, but (a bit) more so their reputation it looked like also with her(at first) going easy on August), and because Wilhelm was only 16, it seemed he just didn't have a say in the matter. I felt sad, when Sara said, that people didn't like her, when she was being herself, and yes as you said, it seemed like Sara and Simon( I also have a brother named Simon)was adressing the problems in each other but couldn't(at least at first) see it in themselves. But many times when you hear something from someone you love it hits harder. Wilhelms subtle I Love You when they meet outside the church is beautiful, and that fourth wall break at the end was intense.

I absolutely love seeing people’s reactions to the breaking of the fourth wall (is that the right wall? I don’t know how many walls there are 😂) at the beginning and end of the seasons. I was gobsmacked when I first watched them too. And every time I’ve watched them, actually. I appreciated Josh telling Alex to stop talking about impregnating women! Enough straight men think we’re vessels for their offspring, we don’t need the gays to join in! I’m so impatient for the third series but I’m also dreading it because then there will be no more 😭

2023-10-06 09:26:53 +0000 UTCI forgot how horrendous Willie and his mom’s communication skills are… like man there was 0 need for there to be conflict between mom and Willie (until the covering up for August part or course) or Simon and Willie if they could just communicate just a teeny tiny bit more effectively! This poor kid has literally been thrown into a very public world with 0 support and 0 skills needed to handle this situation. Very happy Simon is such a pillar of reason in this show
