Project Status - ON HOLD INDEFINITELY

PLEASE STOP PLEDGING AND DELETE YOUR PLEDGES

Dear Patrons and fans, it is with deep regret that we must inform you that we will be ceasing development on the Prince of Suburbia project. There are a number of reasons why we are doing this.

1) Since we launched the DEMO and with the most recent update there have been many abuses with the pledges so that patrons have received access to higher tier rewards and/or access to the new version, and then patrons reduced their pledge to $1 or deleted it entirely before being charged. We were hoping Patreon would provide access to the charge-up-front feature but they have not so the abuse would continue if we went forward.

2) Every creator deals with this but there are numerous fraudulent credit card charges and declined payments with every monthly charge cycle. While the goal may have steadily climbed throughout each month, it dropped down sharply with the start of every new month once the fraud and declined payments are reflected.

3) 2D art takes A LOT of time to complete. I know there were complaints about how much development time there was between the DEMO and the last update, but the honest truth is that ScarlettAnn was creating the illustrations at a fast pace. 2D illustrations take a lot of time in order to complete everything for new updates. 2D art is also very expensive in comparison to buying a nice rig and creating 3D CG models as you please.

4) The following/projected growth just isn't what we need it to be at to be able to continue going forward. It was not a profitable venture. I understand if some of you are angry that we are stopping development. I want you to know that overall the project was a net loss by thousands of dollars that I have no choice but to eat; this isn't and never was a get rich quick scheme. I wanted to be the force behind developing a fun erotic VN with the awesome art that ScarlettAnn creates since I was an AZL fanboy. I truly regret that we won't be able to see the project through as the story was just about to pick up and get really fun.

So, really it came down to this project not being financially sound to continue going forward for growth reasons, Patreon not enabling charge-up-front, credit card fraud/declined payments, and time constraints for new updates while using 2D art. If I was rich and retired we would continue forward because it was fun and would have been something great (in my eyes). But I'm neither of those things so this is where we stop, for now at least. And to dispel some of the rumors, no... I'm not Nergal. 

There is always the possibility of returning to work on the project in the future if things change, but for now that is not the path we are going to take for the reasons aforementioned.

We want to close by thanking everyone who supported our project. We were happy to create something for your enjoyment (even if we can't finish it) and were glad that you were able to see some more of ScarlettAnn's art. I know I was. Please continue to support our team if you see them in the future and/or on other projects.
