The biggest thing is, Gon is being selfish BUT he also trusts Killua with his life, and since Killua says he can take it, he will let Killua do what he wants.

The biggest two things is 1, he only trusts Killua fully, and so therefore only wants Killua to be the one doing it. 2, he trusts and respects Killua as his friend, so if Killua says he can take it, he accepts that, as he trusts Killua to know his own limits.

2023-11-28 07:53:59 +0000 UTCWe've watched multiple episodes of these 2 fools training together. Was it Gon sacrificing Killua to get stronger or Killua sacrificing Gon to get stronger? They both choose to sacrifice themself in order to improve/get stronger. Gon knows he can trust Killua to sacrifice himself in this way cuz he's seen Killua make this same choice multiple times while training. They are both strong and more than capable of making their own decisions. Allow these fictional characters some agency, damn.

He is selfish and selfless simultaneously. Some will argue that he would do the same for Killua, however, theres a difference between sacrificing yourself for your friend, and sacrificing your friend.... for a dodgeball game.
