My Little Pony Season 3 Review

This season of MLP seemed to only make half an appearance clocking in at 13 episode. Personally I’m a fan of more concise seasons, however, I felt this wasn’t fully utilized despite the season having consistency and high points.

The season starts with an impressive, historical, continuity filled episode as the Crystal Empire gets revisited and a new villain Sombra gets introduced. I felt his inclusion was half baked and left a lot to be desired but still started the season off strong. Pink and the crusaders get some love and trixie returns which was awesome to see! The next 3 episodes is an impressive run as it is rainbow dash focused with being an older sister and taking a step closer to her dream at the Wonderolts academy which is followed by Applejack ruining and then learning about family and organizing. Spike a bit of a focus this season but it may be for all the wrong reasons while the return of Discord unconventionally becomes one of the best breakthroughs that only Flutter is capable of doing. Then we might have what feels like the ending of the series as it is emotional, intense, and the ultimate test for Twilight as we see her subtle but major growth payoff in these three seasons. I’m just half a season we seemed to get a bit of everything but we do significantly miss bigger stories from Pinkie and Rarity and did have some mediocre episodes that weakened the season. This gives me a similar energy to S1 but I liked the middle section and the ending were quality! 7-7.5/10
