2024-06-15 17:46:16 +0000 UTCAhh yes. I noticed different titles on the site. This makes sense now. Big Mac! Sort of love him a lot. His speaking parts are always hilarious and unexpected, a strong farm pony, and had slight rizz with the teacher 👀. And now a singer?! He’s a catch Ooh wow. I didn’t know people disliked this episode. I enjoyed pinkie but it was a bit uncharacteristic. It felt like she didn’t hVe much to do in this episode so they had her in this “I’ll be oblivious and speak what you’re fearing” role. I can see why it’s off putting but I don’t think it’s enough to get me to suddenly hate her as I’m sort of loving her the more I watch her especially after the cheese sandwich episode. Music is my favorite source of entertainment so I love all of it. But rn I’d say drum and bass, ambience, jazz, and electro pop, progressive rock! Stage freight is always a touchy subject but I loved how they accommodated her, especially rarity. But I also liked the realization that it did happen but it wasn’t the end of the world. Yes!!! Love how we’ve seen her grow and get comfortable. It’s a treat to see And that message was PERFECT. Amazing. That’s fine! I get it can be time consuming and not explained the best. So as long as it’s not super mega long (unless that’s naturally the vibe) go for it!

2024-06-14 08:04:08 +0000 UTCHey, you can be awkward all you want at the beginning i also like that :) "Filli Vanilli" is a heartwarming episode that addresses common fears as stage-fright and the importance of self-acceptance through Fluttershy's experience. - Some notes/thoughts/facts: - You should know, the title is a play on the controversial RnB band "Milli Vanilli" who weren't the original singers but just lip-syncing another singer in the background. Originally Amy Keating Rogers pitched it as "The Return of Flutterguy", but the title was too spoilery, so it was changed to "Flutterfear" and after that changed to the current title In "Music in the Treetops" Fluttershy solos the song with the sweetest voice in the entirety of the show... which got smashed by Flutterguy's perfomance which is the complete opposite XD Well one could argue that it's strange that Fluttershy has tage-fright if you think back at the "Hearth's Warming Eve"-Episode in S2x11, she performed there and even sang - but maybe it was okay, because she wasn't alone and not the center of the attention. It was suprising seeing Big McIntosh (BigMac) singing for the PonyTones, because he was always portrayed with his laconic and iconic simple "eeyup" or "nnope" - but he has a really good singing voice. (if it weren't overshadowed by Flutterguy that is 🤣) The other two members are Toe Tapper and Torch Song btw. Funfact: BigMac had more lines here than all his apperances combined until now 😅 That Teal Pony at 5:07 is Lyra Heartstrings a fan favourite in the show. https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/mlp/images/0/0f/Lyra_Heartstrings_ID_S5E9.png "Somepony is losing her voice..." - as obvious as this was, i bet you didn't expect it to be Flutterguy's return... Or did ya? Rarity: "Oh, yes. It is wonderful when a plan comes together without any sort of drama, isn't it?" - Why can't these people/ponies stop to always jinx these situations? But even though it's ridiculous that it was in a turkey call competition - which Pinkie won 😅 Yeah Pinkies timing on jokes are great, but i had some problems with her in this episode due to her, let's say well intentioned but insensitive way to encourage Fluttershy. No it wasnt the premiere, it was the very episode where Flutterguy made her first appearance when Zecora was introduced. Fluttershy would just do anything for her Furry friends. "Find the Music in You" is a good song, and emphasizes Flutterguy very well. And with each performance she gets more confident and it shows in her voice and facial expression which is wholesome to see, especially in her last performance where she got exposed by it. There are some good remixes of it - I wonder if you like the faster paced ones or the more original/slower ones? What genres are you in? - Maybe i have some suggestions if i know your preferences 😄 - Also if you prefer the originals there are often good extended Versions of it. About the Question of "Kings": The problem is that "queens" are mostly portrayed as evil in early Disney Movies and fairy tails - thats why there mostly exists princesses instead (You could say it was executive meddling - well one of many), so there were no real mentions of Kings until now... This depiction of Stage-fright was very nasty but fitting... Deus ex machina Applejack this time 🤣 This whole scene i which Fluttershy is confronted by the rest of her friends is such a mix of emotions, i can't say if i like it, but the part afterwards was wholesome, when rarity spoke up how Fluttershy was wanting it for herself and if it was truly that bad what happened there. I love the Reprise of both songs together, they fit so well it's gorgeous! I like how Fluttershy is getting better step by step. Fluttershy: "Sometimes, being afraid can stop you from doing something that you love, but hiding behind these fears means you're only hiding from your true self. It's much better to face those fears so you can shine and be the best pony you can possibly be." - true, love that lesson. It truly hit the nail as you said. --- This concludes this episode which had a great comeback of Flutterguy! aswell as Zecora! It truly had great moments with Fluttershy and the song here were great, but i am conflicted about how to think about Pinkie's behavior in this episode. On one hand, her actions are in line with her character's established enthusiasm and well-meaning nature. She genuinely tries to help Fluttershy but fails due to her lack of understanding and sensitivity towards Fluttershy's insecurities. This aligns with previous instances where Pinkie's insensitivity has caused issues, such as in "Luna Eclipsed" and "A Friend in Deed." - However, this episode also highlights a significant inconsistency when compared to "Griffon the Brush Off," where Pinkie was careful not to hurt Fluttershy's feelings. This disregard for Fluttershy's emotions feels jarring and out of character, making it a little bit difficult to reconcile with her previous considerate actions. Given these conflicting aspects, while I appreciate the intention behind her actions, i cannot just overlook the negative impact on Fluttershy. Thats why i think that Pinkie's behavior was a little disappointing here but not entirely unexpected. Her behavior offended most of the fandom, causing them to dislike either this episode or the writer, Amy Keating Rogers. They criticized her for inconsistencies in Pinkie's behavior whenever she wrote an episode (she was also responsible for 'Pinkie Pride'), which is understandable, though not terribly severe. At least Rainbow Dash and Rarity are showing significant growth and understanding in supporting Fluttershy here. Rainbow Dash, usually brash, is patient and respectful of Fluttershy's reluctance to sing, providing positive reinforcement and congratulating her without pressure. And also Rarity, considerating and kind, finds a way for Fluttershy to sing without being on stage and consistently prioritizes her comfort. I love how this highlights the strength of their friendship and their personal development. And that led to Fluttershy opening up which led to her debut on stage... well at least a private stage but still it was a step into the right direction. - Also the lesson this episode was providing us was great!
