Granny Smith is Athletic Again?? | My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic Season 4 Episode 20 REACTION + Discussion

Definitely a lot here with the flim flam brothers back, AJ and honesty, granny with a mentality of age approach, and even the business and funny marketing exploits. Just something felt uninteresting despite all of this. But I loved your analysis of it as it definitely made me appreciate it more!! Also I hope you’re okay from the stairs!

"Leap of Faith" is an episode about heartwarming family dynamics which challenges moral with thoughtful insights about the importance of truth and the psychological power of belief. It's also about the recurrence of the notorious and deceitful Flim-Flam Brothers who are at it again. - Some notes/thoughts/facts: - Weird is always better than standard (well... it depends on the case though 😅) Yeah i think it is the lake they always go to swim in and Granny Smith is the hidden goat of the show 🙂 Circus are worse than zoos... these poor animals are often very mistreated and the welfare is bad... - It's nice that some changed their ways with them and even stopped using animals in the flesh, but instead make illusions via holograms etc. The Flim Flam Brothers are back! To do another fraud it seems... but oh well the Song "Flim Flam Miracle Curative Tonic" is still catchy, but it doesnt come close to any of the other songs. There is an age-spell which is able to turn a pony into a young unicorn again, it was shown by Trixie with the "Alicorn amulet" in the "Magic Duel"-episode. - But we were never told what side effects it has... - well... maybe this is the secret behind the princesses immortality? 😲 Granny Smith: "I looked out at the water this mornin' and I felt the same terrifyin' aches and pains I always do. But one sip of that magic elixir and it all went away!" - Welp Granny Smith is now an alcoholic (Thats what alcohol does to some degree and in most tonic's it is contained) XD Silver Shill is faking it, thus the tonic is fake and yes "placebo" is the right term for this. But in fear to sully Granny's new found vigor, AJ (despite being known as the most honest pony there ever was in Equestria) had to lied to all of them. Which was an opportunity for the Flim-Flam Brothers to use her for advertising... its the worst. Granny and Apple Blooms aquabatics was awesome! Yes that was Lyra as one of the jury-members. Silver Shill: "I used to wonder if I was doing the right thing. You know, pretending to be cured, basically lying to folks about this tonic. But thanks to you, I realized that sometimes honesty isn't the best policy." - That sounds so wrong - Him saying it to AJ like that just had to give her an epiphany (with rainbow-eyes, again) about how wrong that is considering her element is honesty... :D And now AJ inspired someone (Silver Shill) to do the same. Now to be confident is one thing... but the high diving that Granny attempted was just stupid, foolish and crazy... i can't believe she would go for that, even with the tonic... just reckless... Applejack: "I reckon sometimes you can forget what you're capable of, and it just takes a little extra confidence to remember that it was inside of you all along." - True i currently have the same problem... i fell the stairs 2 months ago and strained my ankle so much that i was unable to walk for some weeks... and even now i have problems with any kind of stairs, because i get anxious everytime i see one, it's partially to the point were i can't move properly because i am scared stiff. I do know better... but insecurity is truly a little demon who is whispering all the negative whatifs things into your ear... --- Well this concludes this episode, a nuanced episode that showcases the complexities of honesty and belief. Applejack’s struggle with truthfulness, set against the backdrop of Granny Smith’s faith in a placebo tonic, highlights an important moral dilemma. I think this episode cleverly integrates the placebo effect and also delves into character dynamics between the con-artists Flim and Flam and the Apple family again. It got it's mixed reception from fans, with some praising its depth and others finding it less engaging. And some actions here were just stupid... Overall, "Leap of Faith", while acknowledging the power of belief, stands out as a reflective piece that underscores the value of honesty. I rate this episode with a 5 out of 10 rating, so i am with you here. - Thank you for your reaction here 💙
