The finales of seasons 3, 4, and 5 were all written to be the series finale as the show wasn't renewed until after they made them. So, along with the actual series finale at the end of s9 that makes 4 places the show could have ended and make sense. You've now seen 2

2024-07-04 13:08:42 +0000 UTCThere is a funfact about the fightscene that i forgot: This show is for kids, so it shouldn't have been possible to include such a fight into MLP, but Meghan McCarthy (one of the writer of said finale) said once, there was an interesting note about do's and dont's: “We cannot show Twilight punch Tirek in the face” this was all the restriction there was. :D

I feel everytime he says or pushes ppl onto a certain direction it’s equally helpful and dangerous. And he hurt my precious Fluttershy 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭. He’ll need to do a lot of redeeming I do love the theories behind discord as him probably orchestrating this entire thing and just sort of knowing the outcome so playing the part. I mean he knew of the tree of harmony but kept it under wraps/forgot. I’m sure he was playing some 5D chess. Tirek a goated villain! The back Story, power, and everything was so well done. Ahhhh you’re right!!! That could have been that shadow figure we saw earlier. If that is then what a great way to foreshadow him. Personally I loved the designs but I get maybe why at the time it didn’t come off the best. I also agree that the elements in question used this way was a great way to make the weka points not as bad but they definitely could have had better ways to go about it than the way they did The ending battle was so epic and anime, how can you not like that? And twilight’s growth was so amazing! Subtle but monumental. I always feel she grows and goes through rapid development in finales as I remember saying this same thing in the S3 finale. Overall just peak MLP and insanely satisfying all around. One of my favorite moments not only MLP but animation!

Princess Twilight Sparkle finds herself grappling with her role and purpose, feeling overshadowed by her fellow princesses. But as the formidable new villain, Lord Tirek, escaped from Tartarus with a sinister plan to steal the magic of every pony in Equestria, to dominate the entire kingdom - the princesses come up with their ultimate sacrifice to transfer their magic into the unknown princess Twilight to protect it from Tirek. This culminates in a breathtaking battle between Twilight and Tirek, where the future of Equestria is decided. After a stalemate Twilight realizes her true place among the princesses: As the "Princess of Friendship" she and her friends gain a new magical transformation of awe-inspiring "Rainbow Power", which plays a crucial role in overpowering Tirek’s tyranny, showcasing the endurance of the strongest magic of all: The harmonious magic of friendship! - Some notes/thoughts/facts: - As it was to be expected... this will be a long one... Interesting company you have got there, i don't recognize any of them though... Yeah... titles often spoil any episode, but MLP managed to avoid that most of the times... which i cant say about the german localization of them... these are downright telling you what happens in each episode... i hate it when a show does that in any language... RD had to be the one to criticize Spikes bragging... 😅 Twilight did some princess stuff in season 4, but it was mostly mediocre stuff, thats why it's nice that they focused on that here. We also get to know another place called Maretonia which seems to be a duchie somewhere. It is based on Macedonia or Estonia. Well Spike may be right, but it wasn't the best way point that out, especially after Twilight herself did that before and wasn't happy about it... "You'll Play Your Part" is such a heartfelt and sweet ballad and very much describes Twilight feelings of uselessness and insecurity towards the princesses - the moment they also stepped in was sooo good, all the sweet harmonies 😍 - it's nice that they could lift up Twilights spirits again. It's also Lunas first time singing, Kazumi Evans did a very good job here. Now out of all times a vision about Lord Tirek's magic stealing? Was that truly a coincidence? Hm... i have a theory about that which i will get later to. An interesting fact about Tirek is, that he's based on the Generation 1 villain of the same name. Scorpan betraying Tirek mirrors the climax of the Generation 1 TV pilot. Princess Cadance: "And I know just the princess who can stop him." Princess Celestia: "No, Twilight. I'm afraid I must call in another to stop Tirek. Discord." Wow quite the way to mislead us and disappoint Twilight 😂 - At least Twilight has now some time to do some studying on the mysterious chest. Such a nice reminiscent moment about the Elements and the tree of harmony. I also like how they embrace their friendship and recognize how strong it has gotten in the meantime. Applejack: "I just hope another 'friend' of ours never makes us sorry we had to give them up." You had to jinx it Applejack! Why do they never learn not to say something like that!? 😠 Discord doing a Mary Poppins reference right there! I agree with you, Discord is one of the best... villainous/non-villainous, then anti-villainous but ?still? villainous character i have ever seen... his antics always get my gears grinding. - He is simply one of a kind... (John de Lancie is doing a mighty good job here) - But he got swayed to easily to the dark side again... which i will also come later to. Your reaction to the revelation to said moments where each of their elements was in question and they had to persevere and inspired another pony to embrace said element was great! - I loved that very much 😁💙 I am also with you - in hindsight this reason alone brightened up all the "bad" episodes, but maybe it was intended to be not that overbearingly good to flash up like a beacon as a potential solution towards the finale. - Still it could have been done much better. 😐 I like your theory about Twilights lethargic behavior during the season, which was the result of her being unsure about her place in the world and all. The princesses sacrificing their alicorn magic to Twilight was indeed commendable and very unexpected, but Discord knew about Twilight and it should have been obvious but that is another point i will add to the list that i will address later on... (Oh my the list goes on...😅) Its funny how you also misspoke Tireks name, considering it was kinda a meme back in the day to spell it out wrong all the time 🤣 I love everything that Twilight is doing with her magic after this 🤩 - It's just so anime op-maincharacter-like, it's crazy. - but it's sad that she had to be so secretive to her friends... Who would have known that a stained glas-window would unveil the 4th princess and a gifted medallion would lead Discord to tell Tirek about her? (That is not really a question 😋) But this is another point to add to my list...which i will explain later... The moment where Fluttershy is heartbroken about Discord betrayal was very saddening. - She was truly a friend of him and even defended him at everything, just to get to the knowledge how futile it all has been at that moment... 😥 It was about time that Tirek betrayed Discord. It was obvious by a long mile... And now we are about to watch one of the best animelike (DBZ) fight scenes in all of MLP! - It was such a surprise for a kids-show with Ponies!!! - And they're pretty even, this means that every magic aside from the alicorns is as strong as the magic of all four alicorns... - i also love your reaction to this 😀💙 That poor Library!!! - All the books and the memories that she made with them (a reminder to S4x22 "Trade Ya!") just vanished in huge cloud of fiery smoke - at least she was able to save Owlowiscious..! The moment she had to decide if she wants to sacrifice her magic for her friends (which obviously wasn't a decision at all) Twilight became her epiphany to not only release her friends, but discord too, because she knew Discord well enough about how he came to be in this position by her negligence of friendship towards him. - I also think this was the moment Discord got truly reformed, and was such inspired by Twilights sacrifice to give her the last key for said mysterious box. The moment has arrived and we get to see what's in the box! - It's the rainbow power of their friendship! - I think thats the reinforced magic they returned during the season 4 premiere to the tree of harmony which now protects them in unity even without the necklaces. - It's a bliss to see your reaction here 😁😅💙 Well, not everyone was a fan of their rainbow-forms - it was seen as over-the-top and another means for hasbro to sell again another set of toys...😅 But i have to admit, i also disliked them at first - but this feeling waned after a while and now i appreciate them in their own way. And the "rainbow-power" is stronger than any other magic combined... RAAAINBOOOOW LAASEEERS!!! 🤣 It blasted Tirek directly back to Tartarus! And gave the magic back all over Equestria. But that wasn't all: the box created a new home (BUY OUR MERCH 😋), a Crystal Castle befitting Twilight Sparkle's newly acclaimed role as the "Princess of Friendship"! This signifies that the title "Twilight's kingdom" is about her reign over the "realm of friendship" across the entire world. Similarly, Luna's role is to reign over the night and the "realm of dreams," Celestia's role is to reign over the day and the "realm of governance" in Equestria, while Cadence's role is to reign over the Crystal Empire and the "realm of love and hope". The song "Let the Rainbow Remind You" is such a great song about embracing the togetherness and such a nice ending of the finale, it brought me to some liquid pride the first time i heard it... It was also nice to see all the contributors again. - I loved that ending! 🥰 Now to come back to my earlier remark about said vision of the princesses (and listing of certain points), do you remember the episode "Three's a Crowd" (S4x11) where Discord interrupted Cadence's visit with Twilight? There was a memorable scene where Discord placed a necklace around Twilight's neck: https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/mlp/images/3/3d/Discord_puts_a_necklace_around_Twilight%27s_neck_S4E11.png https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/mlp/images/b/b9/Necklace_showing_Twilight_and_Discord_S4E11.png https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/mlp/images/5/53/Discord_waving_a_flag_S4E11.png I believe this scene foreshadowed the moment when Discord gave Scorpan's necklace to Twilight as the next key for the mysterious chest. This raises the question if Discord already knew what would happen if he sided with Tirek. This overlaps with the popular headcanon that Discord orchestrated the entire ordeal with Tirek. He was able to easily detect fluctuations in the magic realm to find Tirek, suggesting he knew Tirek was gaining power by stealing magic long before these events unfolded and could have created said vision. Also Tirek had been doing this for a while, ever since he escaped while Cerberus was absent from guarding Tartarus in "It's About Time" (S2x20). We may have even seen Tirek previously, labeled as the "Pony of Shadows," in "Castle Mane-ia" (S4x03) in the end of that episode: https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/mlp/images/2/2a/Shadowy_figure_S4E03.png As for why Discord acted this way, there's an intriguing theory I like: his strange behavior at the beginning, where he returned the Friendship Journal with significant sections bookmarked, hinted at what the missing keys of the mysterious chest might be. He may have planned this all along to help Twilight and her friends reach their full potential and advance to the next stage. Adding to this theory is his wink at Celestia at the end, which could imply that Celestia, who may have orchestrated Twilight's ascension to alicornhood before, was in on the plan and perhaps even pulled some strings herself which would explain some decisions of her. Still, Discord could have been more sidetracked from his (or Celestia's) original plan than he intended: If you think about it, his claim that he truly didn't "see that (Tirek's betrayal) coming" and his remark about Fluttershy teaching him friendship, reveal a lot. This isn’t surprising, considering that none of the other ponies, except for Fluttershy and maybe Twilight, showed any real interest in being friends with him. This lack of engagement and Discords withhelding his true nature made Tirek's world-dominating ambitions very much enticing for Discord to be a part in. Or this was also a plan considering that discord knew about Twilight and and Celestia still decided to sacrifice their magic to Twilight. But whatever the truth is, we may never know that for sure... 😅 I absolutely get why you cant forgive Discord for what he has done to Fluttershy... i also thought like that, but as i told you i cant totally blame him for this - the mane six, well Fluttershy aside, are also at fault here in my eyes. The box transformed into the castle. --- Anyways this concludes this final episode of Season 4, it left a significant impact on its audience, with the epic battle against Tirek being a highlight. While the resolution of Twilight's key and Rainbow Power was generally well-received, Discord's actions sparked considerable debate. Theories suggesting that Discord's betrayal was a strategic move to aid Twilight's growth clashed with opinions that his quick return to evil contradicted his character development. Also, the finale's complexity and the varying interpretations of character motivations underscore the depth of the show's narrative, making it a memorable and discussion-worthy episode for fans. This episode was also widely acclaimed for its animation, action, and character development. 2024-06-22 07:49:35 +0000 UTCSo, there is this wild theory that when Discord winks at Celestia in the end, it was a wink of "hehe, all according to plan for Twilight to grow even more" I mean, why would Discord give the book, and POINT OUT that the solution to everything is in there and even BOOKMARK it for her? You can argue that he hadn't turned yet, sure, buuuuut.... why didn't he just outright say it then? Because he needed her to GROW! He HAD to turn so she could get her key item. So was it all a lesson in yet another Discordian way? We will never know. I am saying it is wild, because it is wild, but I like it, many of the fans likes it, and it's 100% allowed to have that headcanon. PERSONALLY, I think the S2 finale is my favorite so far. But that is simply because I absolutely love Queen Chrysalis AND the My Day Aria song. Anyways, great reaction, I had the biggest grin on my face seeing you having the biggest grin xD

Twilights journey has been has been amazing, seeing her thinking having friends was a waste of time to now seeing her as the princess of friendship is just so rewarding the growth is there! I’m so very proud of her, this was a beautiful moment, tirek was an awesome villain definitely one of my favs, when this came out the fandom freaked out this blew everyone’s mind! nobody expected the dbz type fight scene which was so awesome! twilight was crazy powerful her power level was over 9000! Lol sorry I had too! 😂 also so sad we lost the treehouse 😔 so many memories she made there with her friends and all her books are gone! at least she saved owlowiscious! that was a very sad moment but I’m also glad she’s got a castle now! and a place for all her friends! Oh and the new super saiyan like forms was awesome too everyone calls it rainbow power, the songs were also amazing too you’ll play your part was my favorite so I agree that was soo good I still listen to it a lot, it’s on my playlist hearing the princesses harmonize together was a chefs kiss gave me chills! Beautiful season finale, great reaction! I hope you will continue to do season 5! can’t wait for more Mlp reactions I’ve been enjoying your reactions and looking forward to them everyday! 🙂
