"Wonderbolts Academy" is another great episode centered around Rainbow Dash. Her long-awaited dream to join the Wonderbolts just got closer with her acceptance into the Wonderbolt Academy. All went well until another Pegasus Lightning Dust came along who seemed to be more fearless and better than Rainbow Dash is doing, approved by Spitfire, the captain of the Wonderbolts. But Lightning Dust had to push everything to the utmost limit resulting in numerous accidents and causing a twister which nearly killed Rainbow Dash's friends.
After a short dispute with Spitfire about recklessly endangering fellow ponies, Rainbow Dash heartbreakingly quits the Wonderbolts. - But Spitfire calls her back for not awaiting a response and admits that this was an error on her part, kicking Lightning Dust out in the process.
It is nice to see Rainbow Dash finally getting closer to her long awaited dream, her appreciating camaraderie and looking out for each other. She was able to put her dream aside to stand by her principles of standing loyal to others.
Also, we get further world-building with all the the trainings-exercises at the "Wonderbolt Academy" and new ponies-recruits.
- Some further notes/thoughts/facts: -
The way Pinkie jumps around like a bunny is adorable...
Wow Rainbow Dash the bait... you got me to think it was an episode of coping the loss, here.
As ridiculous it is to see Pinkie doing all the stuff - it is nice to see how much she cares for her friends.
"You get to meet people that are better" - Well predicted Ed :D
And there is Lightning Dust, the much more cocky version of Rainbow Dash so to speak...
Pinkie's emotional roller-coaster in just one minute is crazy...
AJ... you tried... just let her be :D
You know, Lightning Dust could have been a cool character if she just pushed herself, without the expanse of others.
Rainbow Dash is clearly not amused by being a wing-pony.
A good leader should consider his subjects opinions - But Lightning Dust didn't, she is truly no leader material...
Rainbow Dash: "We should slow down. It doesn't look like both of us can make it at this speed!" - Lightning Dust: "Peh."
...just wow :o
Pinkies mailing fears are reaching another level...
Pinkie Pie: "Because what if the package gets lost in the mail? What if somepony else gets the package by accident and then she remembers us instead of Rainbow Dash and then she becomes our new friend? And then the real Rainbow Dash won't ever know that she used to have friends and she forgot them!"
AJ here just looks directly at the camera with an *are you serious?* kind of moment - yea AJ we feel with you XD
Yeah this season they tackled Rainbow Dash real good.
Pretty exessive to create a twister that nearly kills the Mane 6...
After rescue, Fluttershy gets a real dissappointed Stare by Cloudchaser, cause she is a Pegasus herself ... XD
Rainbow Dash is angry, Lightning Dust just harmed her friends (nearly killed them) and gloats about the methods which were dangerous as hell. Yeah Big difference here in pushing yourself as hard as you can and just being reckless... and endangering others while at it. - nice speech!
The moment Rainbow Dash quit was a truly hartbreaking moment... :o
Rainbow Dash did it AGAIN! YAY!:
"OhmygoshOhmygoshOhmygoshOhmygoshOhmygosh!"
I think the last time a letter to Celestia was written was in "Too many Pinkie Pies" by Pinkie

I totally agree with your conclusion, it's great to push oneself to the limit if possible, but it's ahuge problem if it affects others or yourself in a negative way...
It's not as good as the previous episode, but overall still a pretty average episode with some great moments and good development of Rainbow Dash. And she seems to have gotten a rival.
- nice reaction! Thank you. π
