If there's a downside to not reacting to this on YouTube, it's that there's a YouTube account (almost definitely unofficial) named Peridot that often shows up to SU reactions channels and comments in character. Granted, that small perk is not worth the hassle of dealing with the rest of it, but it was always fun to see when it happened.

2024-05-07 04:24:57 +0000 UTC100% agreed on your commentary of enjoying that this arc with Garnet and Pearl was drawn out over a few episodes. It made the emotional resolution of this one hit far harder than it would've had this ep aired right after Cry for Help. I think Pearl wasn't expecting to hear Garnet's vulnerability, at admitting that she fell apart. Pearl genuinely saw her as a "perfect relationship," always stable, always assured, and once Garnet reveals her truth it completely blasts Pearl's belief to shreds. But yeah, she really did need that moment- it means she no longer has to place Garnet on a pedestal, and that they can engage in a more genuine fashion from now on. This ep also has some of my favorite "Steven being a precious little innocent bean" gags of the show, lol. The "have a nice weekend!" shouted after Peridot leaves on the warp always makes me laugh. And ahah, Steven, why on Earth did you BITE her foot? What added good is this going to bring? XD He's so silly.

2024-02-04 04:24:18 +0000 UTCA really good way to end this mini-arc of the Pearl-Garnet Tension, i really love this episode. it's really telling by the way Pearl talks... she was desperate to take part in Ruby and Sapphire's relationship... probably because it reminded her of her own bond with Rose. Both Amethyst and Pearl have deep self-steem issues, their development throughout the series is one the best things of the show. Peridot's voice actress (Shelby Rabara) is simply incredible, her performance perfectly encapsules that Gremlin Energy that is soooo goddam funny to hear, she's the perfect combination of Petty, Arrogant and Crafty... Peridot is simply too endeering to really hate... even if she's an antagonist. Side Note: that scene where she stands on one of the portals and then Steven launches a Shield at her face was also a very popular meme. Heck... Peridot herself was the most memeable character in the whole show back in the day xddd.
