I always start my recordings at 00:00:00 of the show to make timecode syncing much easier and the timecode is included. I watch through any recaps (if any) and intros. I think the change for Tashigi is just translation issue or potentially choosing to use "army" ranks instead of navy ranks because they are more familiar. Because Tashigi is referred to as Sergeant-Major in all the english versions of the anime I have seen, regardless of platform. And even Nezumi is referred to as "Colonel Nezumi" in the english translation of the subs for the anime. After double checking. Viz manga and 4 kids, refert to Tashigi as Sergeant, funimation dub& sub refer to her as Sergeant-Major and then Funimation dub&sub call Nezumi Colonel. So yeah probably just one of those translation/localization things that gets resolved later as the anime progresses

2024-02-01 22:13:28 +0000 UTCMikey just... bear with me, i know i already posted a pretty complete and informative comment about the classification of swords but seeing that you had interest at the notion of Tashigi being a "Sargeant Major" i also have to explain the Marine ranks in here xddd. One Piece has it's own unique Rank System for the Marine Corps, they have a total of 19 Ranks... of which 18 are official and 1 is unofficial. these 19 ranks are divided into 2 Groups: The Infantry and the Officers. We begin at the bottom with the one unofficial rank of the Marines which is: - Chore Boy: which is a rank given to enlisted members who are still not the right age to be proper soldiers. Then we begin with the Infantry Ranks: 1.- Seaman Recruit 2.- Seaman Apprentice 3.- Seaman First Class 4.- Petty Officer 5.- Chief Petty Officer 6.- Master Chief Petty Officer (This is the Rank Tashigi holds, not sure why Netlfix translated it to "Sargeant Major" tho). 7.- Warrant Officer And now we move up to the Officer Ranks (although we've already had several "officers" in the Infantry xdd). 8.- Ensign 9.- Lieutenant Junior Grade 10.- Lieutenant (This is the Rank Fullbody had during the Baratie Arc) 11.- Lieutenant Commander 12.- Commander (Ripper, The guy who allowed Koby to enlist in the Marines after Morgan was defeated all the back in the Romance Dawn Arc... he had this rank when we met him). 13.- Captain (as you very much remember... this is the Rank that Morgan had before he was defeated and arrested for his tyranny, it's the rank that Nezumi the rat-themed Marine guy who confiscated Nami's treasure has... and it is the rank that Smoker also currently has). 14.- Commodore 15.- Rear-Admiral (This is the rank that Boggard has, you know... the guy with a Fedora Hat that was always at Garp's side in the Live Action). 16.- Vice-Admiral (Monkey D. Garp's Rank as you are well aware). 17.- Admiral 18.- Fleet Admiral

2024-02-01 21:57:44 +0000 UTCI'm pretty sure that's still Gold Roger doing the narration in the opening. It's clearly his voice in English and it ends on that big shot of his face. I'm already wondering how some of these scenes will be done in the live action version, which I'm sure I'll be wondering for the rest of the series. That bit with Zoro and the cursed sword is definitely a highlight.
