March 2024 Bases: Rocky Road and Mosaic Tile

Hey Miniature Makers!

This month we went for some rocky bases that will be great for all manner of general-purpose use from gravelly paths to alien planets and a more themed set of ancient mosaic tiles. To go with these we made two basing scatter sets for your guys, a set of small plants and broken statue parts.

The best part about the bases this month is that they can all be combined and used as one giant set should you wish to make tiles and stone floors littered with plants and broken statue parts!

Ground Cover Plants: 6 Versions (Two different plant types with 3 stages of growth each)

Ready for Printing:

The bases will be laid flat for FDM printing and fully pre-supported for resin printing.

We have developed a special curved lip on the bottom of the bases that reduces the pressure when printing in resin on the bottom lip, meaning you get nice perfect edges. This lip also means that when you print in FDM it does not spread out at the edge and the bases stay the exact size they should be.

The lip also allows for the bases to be printed flat on the build plate with resin printers while allowing a tiny gap around the edges so they can be removed without a flex plate. We suggest this is done only by more experienced users of resin printers. This works best with smaller bases up to 65mm and if you do choose to do this, make sure to have 4 bottom layers set and have a layer height of 0.05mm.
