August 2021 Patreon Update/Newsletter

“Wait it’s not August,” you mutter to yourself. “Skip Intro has really lost his grip, I’m so disappointed.”

I'm very sorry. TLDR:

- Copaganda 3.2: Brooklyn Nine-Nine REDUX coming Late September
- Succession & Capitalism video coming mid October
- Lots of big brain ideas in the pdf for future vids
- TV Roundup going to become a monthly thing

I read the articles for episode 3.2 and the portrayal of police resigning as an individual choice is a really interesting topic. Even the character who does quit seems more interested in having control over her work than fighting to dismantle the system, but I don't know what class-conscious characters can do on a workplace show. In both fiction and reality, you either keep working to keep your life going or put your livelihood at risk by changing who you sell your labor to. As for the ways a person can express thier ideology by choosing what work they do, I am persuaded by both the argument that "changing the system from within" is not something (honest) individuals are capable of even if they gain power AND also the argument that having fewer progressives in positions of power means that authoritarians will control them instead. There's a lot of different political theories about how revolutionary change can be accomplished, some of which require allies within the system of oppression and some that reject any cooperation with oppressors.
