Mystwood Manor v0.4.0

Hey guys,

I hope you all had a nice Christmas.
Unfortunately, mine was rather stressful:

My render machine “died”on me.
I couldn’t even get it to boot after 2 days of trying everything I could think of, including a full reinstall. Then I tried swapping graphic cards with my development machine to see if that was the cause. That was a mistake.

Long story short, both my system are unusable and I will probably have to replace some hardware. However, during Christmas (no to mention shops being closed due to Covid) that was not an option. So This means I am not able to add the content I have been working on the last week to this update. It’s still a pretty big update(check out the change log underneath), but it doesn’t have any sexual content.

I’m really sorry, as I was planning on releasing a bigger update. I will add this content (and a lot of new scenes) for January’s update and I promise that it will be a big content update.
I hope you will still enjoy the new content, but if you are looking for new sex scenes,you should probably wait until next month.

Note: Existing saves can be copied over by moving the profiles folder from the previous version to this one. Any guests in your current save will not have activities, just complete their stay. New guests will have activities as normal.

This version may have some bugs, as I wasn't able to finish it.

Story
•Added Anikka as a recruitable character.
•Added Hana as a recruitable character.
•Added the pool.
•Added the security room.
•Added the Forest Queen as a new map location.
•Added the Sheriff’s office as a new map location.
•Added 2 new items(for now you will be able to find it in the attic, like the rest of the items).
•Added new room upgrades for most of the rooms.

Gameplay/UI
•Implemented hotel level 4 (girls can now level up their skills to 4 and level 4 guests can check in).
•Implemented the hotel security attribute and events.
•Added a reset button to the planning staff bar.
•Guests will now have random requirements each time they check in. They can now require any activity(up to the current guest level). This way, skill experience gains should be balanced a bit more more equally and guest interactions will be less predictable.
•Added images and outfits for all activities for all guests.
•Updated all guest interaction dialogs to be different for each guest level and increase in difficulty.
•The study and Amanda are now available from level 3(instead of level 1).
•Completely rebalanced rewards, experience gains and costs to make the progression a lot smoother.
•Rebalanced the satisfaction calculation to be able to serve higher level guests without failing and make it a bit more “forgiving”.
•Added a back button to the new game screen.
•Added hints to staff member portraits on how to recruit them.
•Reduced the maximimum number of nights a guest will stay to 4.
•New guests will now be assigned a hotel slots immediately after accepting them on the check-in screen.
•Added a help button to the menu to access my Discordserver.

Bugfixes
•Fixed a bug causing the maintenance score to not go down when Kay got sick during Laura’s recruitment event.
•Fixed a bug causing dialog history to become italicized incorrectly.
•Fixed a bug causing the gues tlevel to not be saved in some situations.
•Fixed a bug causing guests not to check out and stay “forever”.
•Fixed a bug causing an incorrect satisfaction score after leveling up a skill.
•Fixed a bug that caused the amount of experience gained to be based on the skill level instead of the guest and hotel level.
•Fixed a bug causing upkeep events to trigger at 100%.
•Fixed a bug causing you not to get a card when skipping the intro.
•Fixed a bug causing a lock during the tutorial if you removed and dropped Julia into the lobby slot.
•Fixed a bug causing you not to get a card when skipping the intro.
•Fixed a bug causing incorrect VIP levels to show.
•Fixed a bug with the salary reduction cards.

Thanks for the feedback! Actually the intention was/is to make the dialogs more difficult at each level. In the future, I will probably add more variation to the dialogs as well.

Thanks for the update (even it is really small - but 'shit happens' as Forrest Gump already knew ;-) . And happy new year and good luck for next months. To the change: "Updated all guest interaction dialogs to be different for each guest level and increase in difficulty." - Why not just random dialogs for the meals in higher levels which can also include 'food' from lower levels? Not just for 4th level only indonasian, indian or japanese food...instead more like ie.: one morning 'something healthy' and for the dinner 'some japanese food' so a little more alternately instead only the same things at the same level. Why should a 4th level person not just appetite/crave for fast food one day or a 3th level person for lunch not just a 'salat'? So what I mean is that higher levels could also include lower level options/dialogs. The same for the massage: why can a 4th level person not just have a 'relaxing massage' instead of always the same 3 japanese, indian and hawaian? So it would be a little more dynamic...Just an idea.

Thanks, Aj. Fortunately I have everything backed up. However, I've been at it for about a week now, trying to fix my systems and order new hardware. But I should be able to resume work tomorrow or the day after. Have a happy NY too!
