This is the first episode that has completely different content/storyline compared to the original anime adaptation. So, it's most likely this is the content from light novel that was cut from the anime. And why that anime was somewhat criticized for not following the novel. The situation with the miller hit close to Holo, because she used to "work" to bring good harvest for people, but rarely got any recognition/thanks for doing it. And any time she had to give less than favorable harvests in order to keep the land fertile, she was fully blamed for it.
