✨New Art//Valkyrie of Death (nsfw warning on some images)

The valkyrie swept through the now quiet battlefield, her black wings a heavy shadow, as she reaped the souls of the fallen. Each soul, flickering with green unearthly light, drawn to her, swirled about her sword. Her quiet presence calling them to their eventual rest in the planes of Valhalla.

Hello my loves! Here is a concept for a somewhat darker themed valkyrie that I mentioned might be fun to do. I think this is a concept I could probably keep playing with TBH. Since valkyries are warrior maidens who escort the souls of fallen warriors, I really love the idea of combining the aesthetic of Valkyries with darker reaper-like aesthetics.

Anyhoo, I apologize if things have been a smidge quiet this past week. I had a last minute trip planned to Naples (trying to take advantage of being in Europe before moving back fully to the US in December), and thanks to my previous flight delays I had a lot less days to pre-prepare posts for while I was gone.

  BUT, I think it will all work out because I actually was able to work on this during a lot of the travel time since she was drawn on the iPad!

Anyhoo, I hope you like this piece! It was a fun one that let me refamiliarize myself with working on the iPad. In the past, I had a tiny iPad mini, so I mostly worked on sketches, but now, with a larger size, I can tackle more finished illustrations on the go.

Now that I'm back, I'm very excited to hunker down and get caught up on things, so expect to see a number of posts and goodies in the coming days!
