It's ok to favor characters and even dislike others but implying the books have Ron as some heartless boy is reaching.

He loves his werewolf condition and embraces it. In fact, he was the one who turned little Remus Lupin into a werewolf when he was a boy. Also, yeah, the movies don't do Ron justice. He's great in the books but many of his good moments were given to Hermione in the films...

2024-01-24 18:26:22 +0000 UTCI don't know if you noticed these things but: 1. That book (Tom Riddle's diary from the second movie) was one of the horcruxes that Voldemort made. Harry destroyed it and saved Ginny. 2. The horcrux locket that Dumbledore and Harry went to that cave to get and had Dumbledore drinking that 'grape juice water' was a fake, someone stole the real one. Someone going by RAB. 3. The Half-Blood Prince is in relation to that old potions book Harry got at the beginning. The reason he was doing so well in potions is because that book had writing all over it from a student who had figured out how to change recipes to make the potions better. So essentially Harry was cheating by passing off his expertise as his own. That potions book is also where Harry got the spell 'Sectumsempra' from which he used on Draco. He'd never used it before, and he didn't know what it would do, so he almost killed Draco with that. Turns out, it was Snape's old potions book when he was a student.

2024-01-22 18:41:59 +0000 UTCi love how much you defend Hermoine! but you are being a touch harsh on ron! you've got to remember hes the youngest boy in a huge family and has always felt overlooked/not given attention, Percy, Bill, Charlie are really intelligent and/or popular. The twins are super popular at Hogwarts and are the jokers, and then Ron goes to school and his best friend is the most famous wizard of all time...he always feel like a bit part, so a little confidence and success was bound to get to his head a bit hahah hes a teenager. Hermoine explains it well in the book how Ron feels! Also Ron isn't this useless in the books, in the films hes used for comedic effect. In the books hes the one that clues Harry/Hermoine in about all the stuff in the wizarding world as hes from a big wizarding family. LOVE going on this journey with both of you, you are cracking entertainment!

This movie (like all of them since the 3rd one, really) just moves way to fast and skipped all the important connecting details in order to cram in action, so I really feel like anyone who has not read the books will not understand most of what is going on.
