I don't like Tyrion. The showrunners cleaned up his character massively. He is probably THE most spoiled Lannister who didn't actually have to work or sacrifice much to get what he wanted. Instead, he talked his way into and out of things. The situation with Shae was one of the major times that his words had serious consequences.

I commented this explanation specifically for people like you and here you go nonetheless. Is it that hard for you to have sympthy for a woman who was sold into sex work by her own parents and is trying to get by, a woman who was then scorned and sent away again? No understanding of the world the story is set it or the characters background. These authors deliver complex characters with complex motivations and people can’t do better than go for the sexist insult. She was angry and heart broken and thus wanted to get back at him as well as stay safe. That’s not being a “hoe”. It’s bitter, it’s resentful, it’s self-serving. But of course calling women hoes is easier than viewing them as complex, layered beings.

In Cersi's defense she does not want to leave her son. She is making a desperate effort to stay in Kings Landing where her son is. It's her love for him that is making her reveal the truth to Tywin. I'm not a fan to Cersi, but even she has a few moments in the show. Tyrion was right the many times he stated that Cersi loves her children. It is the only thing she truly loves.

And yes, Tywin is a hypocrite. Spoiler alert for those who haven't yet read the books.* In *A Game of Thrones* (Book 1), Varys gives Tyrion a tour of the castle. During their walk, Varys casually mentions that the castle is riddled with secret passages and tunnels, one of which leads to Littlefinger's brothel. He points out that this particular passage is rarely used and then, with a little giggle, adds a curious detail: a certain well-known and competent Hand of the King has been sneaking through this tunnel for years to visit the brothel. At first, this comment seems like just another piece of the background chatter between Varys and Tyrion, something you might not think twice about. But fast forward four books later, when Shae is discovered in Tywin's bed, and it all clicks. Turns out, while Tywin was busy chastising Tyrion for his relationships with women like Shae, he was doing the exact same thing—using the very same secret passage to indulge in his own desires. When you piece it together, the irony is striking. Tywin, who always presents himself as the ultimate enforcer of family honor and moral discipline, was secretly engaging in the very behavior he condemned in Tyrion. It's a perfect example of his double standards, revealing just how deeply flawed and hypocritical he really is.
