Roharis was outside the tower practicing casting and maintaining simple spells, things like a ball of light or making balls of water float. His mentor, Iphi, who was one of the most powerful mages in the kingdom, was behind him, lounging around on a beach chair tanning in the sun.
Roharis found that quite annoying. Sure, it was a massive honor and privilege to be her student, but at the same time, it’s been months since she started training him, and she has him doing more basic things than he did in the academy.
Things like learning old spellbooks, which most people can’t really do due to the language, but that language is a basic class at the academy and most mages can read it. Then there were all the chores she had him doing.
Dusting, mopping, and her laundry, which he doesn’t even understand why he has to do it by hand when she can cast a spell to instantly clean them. Then lastly, what he was doing today was using the most basic spells that even a toddler could use.
Roharis hoped when he got a mentor they would make him better and stronger and help lead him towards becoming a powerful sorcerer, but Iphi was too lax and didn’t seem in any rush to teach him anything.
Roharis tried to talk to the academy about it in order to get a new master, as he wanted to learn at a much faster rate, but they told him she was thousands of years old and one of the best teachers around and to give her time.
So he was stuck with her. Roharis turned around and was about to ask her if she could show him something more advanced; however, when he turned around to look at her, he found her asleep on her chair. Flustered, Roharis takes his staff and heads inside her tower.
Roharis went to Iphi’s room, hoping to find one of her more advanced spell books. That’s when he found an interesting book right on her desk with a note on it. Roharis picked up the note and read it. Turns out his mentor got the book for him to learn from.
It was filled with tons of advanced spells, which sounded awesome to him; however, the note stated that she hadn’t given it to him because he was still too young. Reading that really annoyed Roharis. Was his mentor refusing to train him because he was young?
He had to admit he was a decade younger than most mages that graduate the academy and get a full-fledged mentor, but he was also one of the most gifted and promising students the academy ever had, so he could handle more advanced spells, and in fact wanted to do so.
Well, the book was in front of him, so he might as well use it. He flipped the book open and gulped. The spells in the book were leagues more advanced than anything he’d ever seen, and most of the spell circles were complex, and the words were written in a mix of several languages.
This was what he needed his mentor to teach him, but she wouldn’t do it. If only there was some way to make himself older so she’d train him. Roharis put down the fancy spellbook and started looking around.
After a bit of looking, Roharis found a spellbook written by her mentor personally and it was filled with transformation spells. Most of which didn’t have names or descriptions, just awful drawings Iphi made herself.
So Roharis looked through the sketches until he found one that had a stick figure of a person, with an arrow pointing to another stick figure that was slightly larger. Roharis thought that might be what he needed, and the spell seemed quite simple.
So he took his staff and started to pour mana into it. He then pictured the spell circle in his mind and then watched as the same symbol appeared below his feet. Roharis was excited as he felt his mana pouring into the spell and he couldn’t wait to be older and start learning more powerful magic.
As soon as the spell had enough mana, it activated, and light covered Roharis’ entire body. When the light disappeared, Roharis did, in fact, feel different, but not in a way that made her feel older, just differently shaped.
Roharis knew something was different and wanted to see what. So she cast a simple reflection spell and shot it onto the wall so she could see herself. It took about two seconds for Roharis to figure out what changed and for her to start panicking.
The spell did not make her older; instead, it turned her into a girl version of herself, which meant she now had a pair of small breasts, was slightly shorter and thinner, and was likely missing something important between her legs.
Roharis was overwhelmed by her embarrassment and grabbed the transformation book and looked at the stick figures her master had drawn. It wasn’t very obvious, but the first one seemed to be male, while the second one was female.
So the spell Roharis had just cast worked as intended; it was just a spell to turn a man into a woman, which Roharis had no idea why her mentor would need such a spell. Roharis knew she had to reverse this right away, so she tried the spell again, but it didn’t work.
It seems it only worked one way, and she’d need a different spell. She flips through the book and finds another set of stick figures. This time there was a male and a female stickman with an arrow pointing to another male and female stick figure.
Roharis figured that was a more advanced version of the spell, one that works both ways. So she once again looked over the spell and then went to cast it. The circle appeared on the floor and she filled it with mana.
Once it had enough, it activated like the first one. Once the spell was complete, Roharis once again felt different, but not like she had felt before using the first spell. Roharis walked back over to the mirror and gasped when she saw herself.
Roharis didn’t manage to turn herself back into a male but managed to do what she was intending to do originally. She made herself older. She was now easily in her mid-twenties, perhaps twenty-five or twenty-six.
That would have been nice, had it not been for the fact she still had a female body, one that became more developed thanks to increasing her age. So now instead of looking mostly like her male self, just shorter and with breasts, she now had a curvy, fully developed female body.
Her chest had gotten much larger, her hips wider, and even her thighs—everything about her was more feminine. She thought her mistake before was embarrassing, but this was on a whole other level. She grabbed the book and started to flip through it, looking for another spell to use.
She needed a spell to reverse the first spell she used without changing her age; then everything would be perfect. However, her mentor's spellbook was a mess of random spells that aren't marked and her stick figures depicting what they did were far from reliable.
As she flipped through the book looking for something that suggested that it could help her, Roharis heard the steps leading up to her mentor's room creaking. Roharis looked towards the door and gulped; the only people here were her mentor and herself.
So that meant her mentor was on his way up, and she’d have a whole lot to scold him about. Not just because Roharis used her spells without permission, but also because she bailed on the training her mentor told her to do and went into her room, which was forbidden.
Roharis began to freak out as she desperately went from page to page trying to find the right spell to reverse this, all of it even, just to avoid the scoldings and embarrassment she’d face when her master found her like this.
However, despite her best efforts, she found nothing, not that she had enough time to even cast the spell if she did. Iphi opened the door and called out to Roharis to ask if she was in there. Iphin then took a few steps inside and found Roharis standing there, ashamed and embarrassed.
There was no hiding her changes, and her mentor would have to punish her in some way for being disobedient. Roharis just hoped that with how she is, she doesn’t just leave Roharis as a girl since that would be the easiest punishment.
