The spirit of Halloween: The choice (CYOA)

This is the first part of the CYOA

Today was Halloween, and you were excited. You had a costume already picked out and you planned to walk around town trick-or-treating with several of your friends. When the sun went down, you got to work.

You put on your costume, it wasn’t anything super special or even scary, but the costume isn't the point of Halloween it was the treats, right? Once you were in your costume you walked outside and waited for your friends to arrive.

After ten minutes of waiting you texted your friend group to see where they were. One was running late, another forgot entirely and the last had bailed on the group to follow a girl to a big party.

They may not be desiccated to the cause of collecting candy, but you were, so you left without them, telling them they could meet up with you later. You make your way to the busy neighborhood and get to work.

After about an hour of successful candy collecting you made a turn down a strange road. There was only one house on the road, but it’s lights were on so you figured they were giving out candy, so you approached it.

Once you got close to the house everything around you flashed, and suddenly you were in some sort of strange void, and the only thing here was you, the house you were walking to, and a strange woman standing under the moon.

You were freaked out and tried to leave, but quickly found there was no way out. “No need to be scared my dear child, please come closer.” Her voice sent shivers down your back, but you felt compelled to approach her.

Once you were right behind her she turned around. “Hmmm, where is your Halloween spirit? Does humility truly not care for the spooky or supernatural anymore?” You were confused until you realized she was talking about your costume.

“How about we play a game? I’ll make you spooky looking and give you a task to complete, if you complete it, I’ll turn you back to normal and release you from this place, but if you don’t you’ll remain as whatever I turn you into and become my monster servant.”

You didn’t want to play this game, but she made it clear you’d be trapped if you didn’t. You agreed to play her game in exchange for a chance to earn your freedom. “You’ll play? I’m so glad, I can’t wait for you to lose and serve me for eternity.”

You look at the woman waiting for her to change you but she just looks at you. “I was going to randomly transform you, but in the spirit of Halloween I’ll give you options of what I’ll turn you into, and each one will have a different task.”

The woman stuck her hands up and showed six of her fingers to you. “I’ll give you six choices. You can be a ghost, skeleton, succubus, vampire, werewolf, or witch. Pick one and I’ll transform you, after that I’ll tell you your task.”

You have to pick wisely, you don’t know what task she’ll give you for each monster. You think about your options for a minute and tell the woman what you chose. “Oh? Are you ready to pick? Tell me what I’ll be turning you into.”
