Well yeah, what he said is that he wanted to present the formula for imortality to his father so he would get on his good side.
However, I'd definitely agree with you that it always sounded more like Ling wanted to become emperor himself in the end and not just to save his father.
So I don't know wheter this is Ling (or the story writersfor that matter) not thinking a step ahead an realizing that the old emperor never would give up his power if he knew how to become immortal or Ling just pretending not to intend to take over with the power of the stone.

Great recap of 27. That was probably one of the best reviews for 27 that I have seen from any reactor of FMAB. Things are really going to rev up in these last three arcs, can't wait for you to see them. And remember episode 29 and 30 have after credit scenes.

Also, Ling wanted that power to claim the throne for himself, I don't think he ever planned to save his father

Oof so much for character development and getting stronger when there's a being who can take away all your powers by tapping his foot. Does call back to humanity's arrogance in real life, "getting a speck of power and assume we're the owner of it"

The recap was essentially a beautiful message delivered by Trisha Elric; Humanity is pathetic and weak, but that's why we can keep struggling no matter the cost, to strive to become a better person than yesterday. Humans constantly try to kill one another, but we also constantly love and care for one another. It's because we're so imperfect, we'll always strive to become better than what we are; humanity has an unlimited amount of room for growth.

Greed sounds familiar because the voice actor is Troy Baker.

It’s okay that you didn’t react to episode 27. It’s like 5 minutes of content. I like the introspective on hoenheim but just listening to you recap was enough for me. Can’t speak for everyone else but that’s how I feel.
